Adding a quick guide because this was quite nearly impossible to find information on outside of hour-long full play through videos with no time stamps. Frankly, forget that noise!
Unlike Deaf’s drawings these don’t appear in order in your book (you can see them with
and by selecting the bottom tab).
Instead of listing them in book order I’ll list them in order of earliest encounter (several appear multiple times, several appear only once).
There is chapter select in game on the main menu, there’s no text, just pictures of the 8 chapters, all instruments are found in Chapters 1-6.
Udu: Chapter 1, but this appears at least two more times, it’s very obvious, use the table by the drum circle as you advance up the hill.
Handpan: Chapter 2
Kalimba: Chapter 3, this only appears once and it’s at the very end, when there’s two carts to move, move the bigger one on the left and head up the hill to find this.
Tabla: Chapter 4, only appears once, at the very start there’s a branching path, left is a wall that takes teamwork to climb, right meanders around with two optional draw spots for Deaf and this instrument. You end up in the same spot at the end of either path.
Guiro: Chapter 4, I think this appears again later but it’s right after the paths rejoin on the wooden platforms, take the stone staircase down and the next one immediately up.
Balaphon: Chapter 4, this is the xylophone looking thing and appears several times.
Rain Maker: Chapter 5, appears once and the most easy to miss, after you navigate Deaf out of the moving belt maze, walk back up to the area with the buttons Blind was pressing, it’s on a broken ledge near the exit and final button.
Maracas: Chapter 6, near the beginning, on a side path right after getting off the boat, it’s on a mat on the floor and not a table so not as easy to spot.
Singing Bowl: Chapter 6, before you squeeze between the crack and navigate in the dark past the smashers, you should find a massive metal bowl in the floor on a side path. Smash it once with Blind’s
to collect it.
According to Tandar1 this has changed due to game update, “Since the update, the singing bowl is definitely after the squeeze through the crack. Go opposite direction as the main path and you should get to it easily.”Cymbals: Chapter 6, extremely easy to miss, after the smashers in the dark portion you arrive at a room Deaf is meant to climb, it’s a really long climbing portion so you should be able to identify it. Take the small path around to the left, move the big block you see with Blind, allowing some of the black goop to fill up a trough and open a path across to the Cymbals.
Congrats that’s it! This truly sucked to find with no info, so I hope this helps. If I’ve misstated a location please let me know in the comments.
