The Trawling Area is the large green circle on the northwestern part of the map. The downside to this is that using a regular ship to get there wont unlock the achievement, you have to use a trawler like the Lunar Bow or Hermes to get there.
Once you do, you will enter "Open Sea" which is where trawling takes place. The achievement will unlock when you get there.
