Hive missions unlock after completing most of the mission chains after the end of the main campaign. I believe you have to complete all the Iconic missions, as well as another chain that opens up after those are completed. The Hive mission chain will have you complete each Hive location, ending in a 14-floor version. To get 50 clears as easily as possible, you should just repeat the power level 40 Hive mission in the Utah Badlands, as it is only 5 floors. On average it takes around 15-20 minutes to clear, though it could be as low as 10 minutes if playing with other people. Overall, this achievement will probably take about 8-11 hours.

This is also a VERY good place to work on hero levels. I believe the lowest power level you can enter the mission with is 20, so you will have to do a couple missions with each hero to reach that point. I was earning between 3-5 hero levels per run (about 10 per hour), which is very comparable, if not better than, other methods for earning hero levels, while also earning new gear and making progress to another achievement.

PlusATHEYI have had to do this on challenge 2, any time I did it on challenge 1 the tracker did not move at all.

Giam n7So challenge 2...Good info thanks. Can you play in team or need to be done solo?

SchaafySolo or as a team both work

AmagiciaNamdGobI would suggest waiting until you have a full roster of 140+ hero's and just start doing the Mega Hive. While you can do the Hives one at a time the rewards you get will be close to nothing. At least doing the Mega Hive you will get 8 stages with 5 floor each and two guaranteed exotic items at the end. This will still take time and be more difficult but you will get more than just the chevo for doing it this way.

Schaafyyes, if youre looking for good equipment, that would be the way to go, if youre looking for the fastest way to get the achievement (hence looking at the guide), it would be how I layed out.

Giam n7Played over 50 Let the game begin on challenge 2 and no trophy, I played with Iron Man power 150 the majority of the times (on PS4 so I can't track only counted by myself)
I have a theory...Assuming that the difficulty matters (like suggested by Schaafy) I suspect that in order to make it counts a hive you have to play on whatever difficulty makes your character at the same level of the enemies or under.

    So for example:
•Let the game begin on challenge 2 with a character power 150 doesn't count since the difficulty would be -10; with a character 140 or less yes it should be counted as you would be the same level of the enemies already from challenge 2.
•Elite Hives should count everytime since with a character power 150 on challenge 1 you are the at same level of the enemies (on challenge 2 is +5).
•Gauntlets of the Mega Hive are good from challenge 2 and above since with a character power 150 on challenge 2 you are already at the same level of the enemies (challenge 1 would be -5).

So if this is true when I was Iron Man power 150 in Let the game begin Challenge 2 which is 140, -10 his power level I just wasted my time, should have played with other characters with lower power lvl or use lower gears on Tony.

SchaafyI did my last few with power level 150 black widow so i dont think this is the case, but that is something to look out for. Can always bump the difficulty up to make the power level match.

Giam n7Ok so that wasn't the case. I have given up for now, Phil said he believes it will be fixed with the next patch, hopefully it will happen next week ...
