How to unlock the Collector of Legendary Treasures achievement

This is for finding and selling one of each six (6) different new treasure items, which you can only get from the new 'Athena’s Run of Thieves’ Haven' voyage, available to Pirate Legends, for 50 doubloons from Duke in any outpost. If you are not PL yet, you can invite one into your crew to buy the voyage for you. The items can only be sold to the Mysterious Stranger in any outpost.

This is a long voyage with 5 chapters, and it will have you return to Thieves' Haven 3 times, digging up about 17 items total. You'll most likely not find all the Legendarh Treasures in one voyage, since some of the items will be regular Mermaid Gems.

However, since there's an commendation (not achievement) for doing it 5 times, you'll most likely get all six items if you're going for that too.

    The items are:
    * Chalice of Ancient Fortune - an egg-shaped purple trinket
    * Crate of Legendary Voyages - a merchant crate, glows blue
    * Skull of Ancient Fortune - a foul skull, with slight blue glow
    * Gilded Relic of Ancient Fortune - a golden cup with blue/purple inside
    * Villainous Skull of Ancient Fortune - a villainous skull, glows blue
    * Keg of Ancient Black Powder - a stronghold gunpowder barrel, glows blue

Here's a picture of all items together, from the SoT website:

Added tip provided by KawiNinjaRider7: on the islands that are not Thieves Haven, digging up loot can spawn a Shadow of Fate skeleton (which can only be killed by first shining the corresponding lantern light color on them), which have chance of dropping a Legendary skull. It's worth bringing those lantern colors back from the Ferry just in case. I've seen them in at least red (killed by fire) and green (killed by skeleton).

KawiNinjaRider7Would also like to point out that whenever you dig up an item and a colored shadow skeleton spawns (the ones you need special lanterns for), you have a chance of dropping Legendary skulls from them as well. At least in my experience red and green seem to be the most common so I'd recommend having those lanterns on your ship as well in case one pops up.

mrbellekThat's a great tip, Kawl! I didn't know about that. In my experience, the Shadow of Fate skellies only pop up on the non-Thieves-Haven islands.

KexolI also think you can get a guaranteed ancient keg when digging up your third and final set of Xs at Thieves Haven. One of the skeletons that spawn up when you dig up an item will have it. You'll have to watch for it and carefully shoot his legs.

mrbellekI've also seen two reports of people digging up Athena chests during this voyage, but that doesn't count towards this achievement.

GrimaceTheGreyGot everything but a Villainous skull doing the voyage. Can the skulls appear from dig spots during the voyage? All the skeletons I fought dropped the regular skull.

mrbellekI think Legendary Villy skulls are drops from the skeletons, but you can also dig them up in the collectors chest on Thieves Haven runs chapter 2 and 4.

GrimaceTheGreyFound out today you can also get Legendary treasure from the Athenas Voyages that you can buy for 250 gold from the Pirate Lord as well. I've dug up all the treasures, and have gotten both types of skulls from the captain hunts that you get. So if you want to save some doubloons you can go that route.

In my case I needed the villainous skull, so I would buy the quest, and go do the two captain missions, and if I didn't get it, abandon and restart. It might be a little more cost effective than 50 doubloons a piece if you only need specific items.

StR0nG2Was able to do this today using the Legends of the Veil voyage coupled with a Mysterious Stranger Emissary Quest after completing the voyage. This method probably is the quickest method since it takes about 30-45 mintues to complete the LotV voyage and about another 30-45 mins to do the Emissary Quest if running a duo sloop (or larger crew). Bear in mind the timing is based on not being contested at any point by external factors (Megs/Krakens/PvP). Also note that this doesn't really require the lanterns for the shadow skeletons as they were easily killed in daylight. The Keg of Ancient Black Powder will show up during your Emissary Quest as one of the diggable items (including the second Chest of Legends).
