You have to complete a series of mini-games in order to not fail and be forced to reboot. At the top of the screen are a series of symbols. The one that is highlighted is the mini-game that is active. Look around the screen for this symbol in the top left corner of a small box. This is the current mini-game. You have to complete this mini-game to move on to the next symbol at the top. The mini-games seem to be pretty easy to figure out EXCEPT the one with two long lines that reach from almost the top to the bottom and have LT and RT at the bottom. There are also tick-marks along each long line. You have to very slightly press LT and RT so that the lines are highlighted from the bottom, and have the top of each highlight remain in each L & R tick-mark boxes until the three diamonds at the top fill up.
Once you solve all the mini-games for the symbols at the top, you will repair one segment of the ship system. You have to do this about four (or three or five? I wasn't really counting, sorry) times to pass the level. Good luck!
