To even unlock violent mode you must first complete hard. At this point your girls should be well levelled up & if you haven’t already do as many of the quests as you possibly can. It will only help get your girl’s more powerful. When I started violent I had Aya at level 100, Saki around 75 & Annna at around 40. There is a noticeable difference in difficulty between violent & hard – if you take hits you will notice it. If you’re not happy with the levels of your girls I would suggest doing the quest relating to survival mode. It is the best one to try & knock out early on (note – must finish game once before this unlocks). Survival is a great way to level yourself up quickly & easily if you’re struggling on a particular level.

Additionally: If you can try & get the power bracelet from the blood mist zombie in level 10. This will mean doing a 12 hit cool combo to get you sent through the blood gate but it’s well worth it as when the bracelet is levelled up it really makes a significant difference (note – to level a bracelet up quickly just replay level 5 over a few times). It will level up to 3 – remember to equip it at the beginning of every level.

Here are some general rules that I followed- they are the same as I listed for hard mode as they cover everything.

• Don’t fight zombies unless you have too, many sections can be bypassed without a single fight.
• Don’t be afraid of going into berserk mode – as long as you keep an eye on your health it will actually help.
• Concentrate most of your levelling up on Aya as she is the one you will use the most.
• When using Aya her jump & double sword spin is the best weapon you can use. Just jump with A & press X in the air. Very damaging & gets you out of danger. This is useful against bosses as well.
• Counter-striking will be your best friend against many of the bosses. To counter-strike just lock & start hammering the A button to roll towards the boss, they will try & attack you but will always miss. Eventually the screen will flash white & go slow-motion. Start hammering the attack button (X) to counter-strike & do some serious damage.
• In the level where you have to play as just Annna against the boss who splits herself into many, just constantly back up keeping them in front of you & keep hammering the fire button. When you have to reload don’t do it if one is A) running towards you or B) standing in front of you. They die pretty quickly.
• Going into berserk against Misery is very helpful as you can’t get knocked back, so keep 2 bloody hearts available for her.
• If you can’t make it past a boss or level just do survival & level yourself up a bit more. It can make all the difference.
• Always go for the gun zombies first – they can hit you from distance.

I cannot stress enough how useful Aya’s jumping spin sword attack is particularly if you have a long reach. Also don’t forget to counter-strike as many of the bosses as possible.

Hope this helps & any other questions just ask.
