  This was driving me nuts, and if you are reading this, you probably paused the game or existed to the main menu like me thinking you missed World 8. The last portal in the game is in the castle, which is World 8. World 9 achievement will unlock first. World 8 achievement is actually the LAST achievement you will unlock. Ater the World 9 one pops, keep flying forward and pick up the VHS tape(?), and then it will pop. (Eff this game)

  hahaha this was awful. the 4th aery game isn't nearly as bad

  This is just for reference if you become completely lost like I was following along a video guide and then the last portal didn't open:
  At some point you probably clicked new game instead of continue game. That means you'll have to re-do the worlds up until you hit new game.
  For myself, on world 4(?) the feather balls didn't go to their correct places after collecting them all to open up the big feather for collection. I had to restart that level by going back to the main menu and accidentally hit new game (you wouldn't know otherwise, it's an open world concept). When I completed world 7 the last world didn't unlock and that's why. I re-did the first 3 and it worked like normal.
