More of a really good tip as winning the matches without boost will require decent skill level and team. On the map voting screen, you can safely quit out without being ‘banned’ allowing you to have another chance of landing on the map you need (although matchmaking takes awhile, it’s still much faster backing out and searching again than playing an entire game hoping the map you need a win on comes up on the next vote. Hope this helps as it really helped me.

SinisterSean XSo can someone please confirm with me. If you quit out during the map voting screen cause it's not the map you need do you get penalized? Please anyone answer this for me it is driving me nuts.

xIImiseryIIxWhen I did this months ago, during the map voting screen I was able to back out pressing B without any timeout penalties, I don’t know if that has since been patched but worst case you will likely get a 15 minute ban as your first offence.

Scarecrowe1888Yes, if you quit out during the voting screen you get a Community Service penalty that you have to complete before allowed to do any ranked games of any type. It's usually two quickplay games that you have to complete with a certain score. Takes longer to do those than it does playing on a map you don't want.

If you are ever worried about if quitting will give you a penalty, the game will warn you when you quit if you will be penalized. If you try quitting and don't see that warning pop up you can do so without a penalty.

Best way of doing this is to get a group of 8 players with 4 players in each team. The two hosts will then search at the same time for King of The Hill. Whilst searching be sure to update the other host with what's going on in your lobby.

When it says creating match for both teams 9/10 you will be in the same game. Prior to searching you might want to make it so that you are all the same characters for both cog or swarm. This will make it easier to tell if you're in the same game or not, as you can't see the other teams names when picking the map. Another way to tell if you're in the same game is the same map selection and spotting icon.

If you don't get a map you want, then just back out and try again. Did this recently in a session and it took us a fair few tries to get Nexus to appear. When backing out there was a matchmaking penalty message that was appearing, but we didn't notice any difference.
