https://starbounder.org/TenantI'd recommend while going for these 3 side quest achievements, you work on
at the same time.
And of course you'll unlock
and
along the way.
Once you get some tenants they will start asking you to do side missions for them. These don't seem to be any different than the other randomized side missions any others NPCs will ask you to do. These vary from asking you to find and escort a friend of theirs back to them, giving them specific items, giving or receiving items/gifts from the other tenants and merchants, and defeating enemies among others. Sometimes these quests will have multiple steps to them, and the quests won't officially be completed until they give you a Reward Bag. I got lucky with my main base I made on the first planet of the game, just to the west of it was a small ruins of rubble, and this, along with the planet's Mine are the two places my tenants seem to send me. So for the ruins I'd just walk a little west to them, and for the Mine I simply put down a Flag, which act as teleport markers. So if you noticed the quests tend to send you to the same places a lot, just put down a Flag to mark so you will be able to teleport to them faster.
One thing to note, for the quests where they have you find and bring back a friend, those friends will stay at your colony. They will even start asking your for quests as well. But I'm not 100% sure if the quests they give you count, as they are not technically a tenant of yours, they aren't assigned a Colony Deed in a room. So to be safe and avoid wasting time, try to only accept quests from tenants who you know are your original tenants, not NPCs you saved or escorted back to your colony. An easy way to tell, is by clicking on a Colony Deed, the original tenant would then return to their room, while their friends will not.
I originally thought removing the tenant who has a friend join the colony would remove the friend as well, but playing more I've noticed that's not always the case. The friends will sometimes stick around, even if the original tenants who asked you to escort these friends to them are gone.
As you probably don't want to just stick around your base waiting for their sidequests to show up, you can either just do a sidequest or two when you come back to your base to restock or drop off things to store, or you can just attract a lot of tenants, so more sidequests will show up.
I found after I did 25-30 quests or so, I just started declining certain quest types, as there are much shorter and faster sidequests your tenants can give you. The fastest seem to be the ones where they ask you to talk to another tenant, and you'll go back and forth between the two a couple times, until they either just ask you to bring something to the other, or place a piece of furniture down in their rooms. Or if you've already got a good farm going, the ones where they will give you certain seeds, and ask you to grow crops for them, you may already have them grown. Then you'll use those same crops to craft a certain food item. I personally never took any of their sidequests where they ask you to build a certain room type for a certain tenant, as I always wanted full control of what rooms I built.
