At the end of any run, win or lose, you will earn progress towards the two clans you have chosen. Taking and completing trials will give you more experience towards these unlocks. I unlocked level 5 over three runs, two wins and one that lost on Seraph. If you're struggling with the game, it may be closer to five or six runs.
