Here are some useful informations because "100% complete the game" is a bit misleading.
You need to find every collectible of course which means shiny things, all seeds and pots, all weapons and I believe all upgrades and shrines too (as they are featured next to the percentage when selecting your game save)
BUT you don't need to be fully upgraded regarding your stats as I got the achievement with three missing magic stats points (out of five).
Finishing the game with the umbrella as your only weapon "Academy of umbrellas" does not count towards this achievement (so you can get it without playing "hard mode") neither are some challenges such as "Hot Pot" and "Meal for a King". (I missed Hot Pot but still got the 100% achievement).
Following that logic, any event not linked to collectible is not needed such as "Specialist", "Big Spender" and "Conga line".
    Hope this helps.
Oh and it will not pop by itself when you're done, you will have to quit to get back to the title screen, your game save will show up with a golden 100%, only then will the achievement pop!

    I will update if needed.

Update: "A true ending" may be one of the conditions to get it according to @Leap of faith

    Enjoy that beautiful game!

DarckI got the seeds/pots ancient tablet before beating the final boss, I think that might be it since the door opening cutscene triggered again post game, can someone confirm if getting an ancient tablet counts for 0.5% of the total competition?

J2B9I checked on my 2nd run by getting one tablet of knowledge and it increased the percent 0.5.
I then collected a red orb to see and the percent didn't change. So those don't count for sure (individually at least), so you might be right that it glitched for you.

SaulbakI was at 99% before the true ending and it jumped to 100% after, so the true ending is worth 1%.

MurhyMarvFor some who get no achievement at 100%. Reloading the save has worked for me.

Iggsy81Can this all be mopped up in post-game or are there missable elements?

Leap Of Faith77There are no missable elements to this achievement. The 4 achievements that are tagged as missable are not required for this achievement.

WhyattThrashLike Saulbak says, the True Ending counts for 1% of completion. I just tested it on a fresh save, was at 99% after opening the door, got 100% after entering and watching the ending.

WhyattThrashThe correct unlock criteria is; You need to find every collectible: shiny things, seeds, pots, weapons, spells & spell upgrades, shrines, tablets (which means also finding all owls), as well as get the true ending after finding all tablets.
