    Actions
    This MUST be done in a Royal Tomb. Any overworld Griffins do not count for some reason.

    I killed three in the open world and the achievement did not pop until someone graciously Sherpa’d me through their Royal Tomb to get the achievement.

    If it did somehow work for you on the open world, awesome!

    As noted below in the comments, you must kill one with melee, poison and fire arrow damage does not count either.

    Jay CowlAlso should be noted, killing with poison or toxic arrows apparently doesn't work. Must finish them off with melee.

    Erickson187I was in a group and we killed one in the tomb as well as a bunch outside but no achievement. I am wondering if you need to be the one who gets the killing blow in order to get it

    McTennisDI believe you also need to be the host as I got the achievement for bone dragon but my wife did not.

    LEV1NT0FUI'm playing on the XB1S and suffering many crashes. There are specific island I can not travel too without the game crashing. The good news is you can "tune" the map to the islands you want to travel to via the Alter of Travel. Method: once you have the required materials to open a spot on he map save the game. Open an island plot. If its not the an island you want just dashboard to the home screen and quit the game. Reload and repeat till you get the plot you want.

    Elder MartinFound my Griffin on "Island of Residence6-6" in a Royal Tomb hidden behind a rock at B4 on the map. The map name in the bottom right when you hit right on the d-pad is "0.1.12.0 Island Level 5-10SingleFreeWorld12". I realize it's random, but this is where I found mine.
