This game can be quite frustrating to boost these days, as the 44x multiplier that would have made this game a joke is completely gone with no sign of returning. If you're expecting this solution to tell you how to get it back then I'm sorry. I've tried many things with my group and haven't ever seen it return ever.
The most important thing to understand with gears 2 is
Score determines how much EXP you will receiveAccounts and GuestsThe online for Gears 2 Japan is the same as Ranked in Gears 2 international. So you can only play with full accounts no Guests but you can have 1 gold and 1 silver account in split screen. If you're playing on an Xbox one use a home console of a gold account to have 2 silver accounts in the game. However the host cannot be in split screen in order to host a game. Usually you will need to have both team leaders solo or they will never find a game.
Finding a gamemodeonly wingman has it's own playlist. so when you search the other games modes they're all under the same playlist name "Players Choice"
it contains 6 modes when you find a game it will give a 2/6 chance of getting the game mode you want if no one votes it will choose one of the 4 modes not on display.
Method 1: King Of The Hill "KOTH"The majority of people will complete this game via KOTH it's the most popular method in TA sessions.
You'll have 10 people and split them into 2 teams then both teams take turns walking in and out of the hill. The more active real accounts the faster it will go. however if your session is short of a person, you can put in a 2nd controller and a silver account to get the lobby started.
Score200 score to capture the hill
50 to break the hill
KOTH rules are 1/4 of your total score will become EXP so if you earned 52K score exactly you would walk away with 13,000 exp. the only frustrating thing about this method is that you cannot search for KOTH on it's own.
Method 2: GuardianIn Guardian 9/10th's of your score will return as exp. however through this method only 2 people may boost while the rest of the lobby sits idle. This is a better method for people who have a lot of Xbox's and copies of the game or a smaller group who don't mind rotating and are able to sign in dummy accounts to help fill the lobby.
You put the two XP earners on the same team and put one in your original spawn and the other in the enemy spawn move your own team out of the way.
ScoreKilling an enemy without him going into a downed state will give 175 score for the kill. you can chainsaw or Gnasher the enemies.
you can shoot your enemy down with the lancer which will give 50 for down and 110 for a finish.
Since the enemy leader cannot be killed you can also gun him down while waiting for spawns on your side for an additional 50 points.
It tends to spawn reasonably evenly however it will also spawn locust inside cog players if they haven't moved shielding the locust within. so make sure everyone moves at least a little bit at the start so the enemy is never shielded by friendly fire.
If you have a turbo controller you could Turbo the left on the Dpad
on a dying enemy controller to have them drop Gnasher's for unlimited ammo.
you could also put something heavy on the button and i think it will also bring out your shotgun.
The nice thing about the guardian method is the games end when you choose them to end. the time limit for a round is infinite unless only 1 person is alive from each team and both leaders are dead. which reduces time on finding the game mode you want. The bad thing is it feels as tedious as a Gears 3 Onyx weapon boosting lobby.
Method 3: Guardian turboThis solution will only work for a group of people with more xboxs than players that want level 100 and some kind of turbo Controllers, if you do not have these This is not the solution for you.Requirements2 Accounts earn exp method2 turbo controllers or script devices
1 Rubberband.
4 Accounts earn exp method4 turbo controllers or script devices
2 Rubberbands.
This method is mostly idle.
I started this game after the XP multiplier seems to be completely dead. I would only recommend this method
if it remains dead.
This method can be mirrored on the enemy team to ensure that 4 accounts receive the XP in total. it was also only ever run on Xbox One's/Xbox Series X.
How it worksFind a game of guardian, the leader will be a dummy account who will be beaten and revived, over and over again as he has no limit of how many times he can go down. The only limit is a score cap of 9999 downs/revives per person. It results in a score of 500,000 and due to guardian giving 0.90x the amount of score as XP you will receive approximately 450,000XP a game which is about 6-7% of the total grind.
It takes 6.8million XP to reach level 100 with this method you only need around 15-16 successful games of this method to get there.
Setup1. Get a game of Guardian.
2. Make your dummy account the Leader by slaughtering the enemy leader and end the round.
3. Find a straight wall to setup on.
4. Set the dummy account against the wall facing parallel with the wall.
5. Set the person with the dummy account who is on the same team behind and slightly to the left or right of the dummy to stop him from moving backwards. Set this controller to spam
.
6. Apply a rubberband to your leader controller to pull him backwards and towards the wall and into the
account
7. Set the enemy of the leader to be standing in front of him facing towards the leader also parallel to the wall. try to find his maximum punching range. and set him to spam
7. Wait 7 hours or more depends when you want to comfortably end it.
8. End the game and receive approximately 450K-exp without multiplier, preferably the host should do this as i experienced no lag at all after 8 hours of it running.
7 hours2.5 seconds per down x 9999= 6.9 hours give it 10 or so mins to set up and you get 7 hours of waiting before no more score will be given.
If the leader dies due to a lag spike simply kill everyone but 1 person from each team then wait out the 1min timer. This will result the round in a draw you can kill the enemy leader to control who is the leader on your team for the next round while also drawing the game out infinitely.
For those who prefer a
visual example of what this set up looks like here
This is an example of the end result.
Method 3.5: Faster Guardian turboIt is possible to use multiple controllers to double punch a leader down. cutting the 2 seconds per down timer to 1 second this literally will make it go twice as fast but has a much higher chance of executing the leader which is why I only recommend one person do this at a time.
The reviver must be host or have an almost perfect connection to the host. preferably the double punchers will be on the same box.
You can also use this to increase the speed of the punchers exp as well if you stagger the punches correctly however the account who lands the first punch will get zero exp.
You want to form a tight box around the leader as he is being punched so much and going up and down so much he will push through to escape. no rubber band is required in this method as it will not help.
======Puncher
Puncher=Leader=Wall
======Reviver
This version of the method will take 53~ish hours to go from level 1 to 100 of ingame punching time it's literally twice as fast.
here is an example
0 exp bugI'm not sure why but sometimes when you host theirs a chance you get 0 exp. you can also break through the 9999 revive cap. I believe the game has decided from the moment the lobby has formed you will get nothing. It doesn't matter if you end the game or if the game is ended by someone else win or lose it will always be 0. It's not forever however but if it happens once it will probably happen for the next 5 or so games you host.
LagIf your connection is unstable I recommend you be the one punching. If your the one reviving and hit a lag spike you won't revive and the leader will be killed resulting in you having to set up all over again. Usually the host is a reviver.
A lobby of guardian hosted by Xbox ones can seemingly run forever. I've done several of these lobbies the most I've seen the timer go to is 8:30 hours. but it worked just as smoothly as if the match just started.
This could also be done in private gears of war 3 for the Medic Onyx medal.
