  One of the most effortless achievements on this game, all you have to do is load up a game as Sonic, then exit to the main menu and start a game as Knuckles - it's as simple as that. You have to do it in one session though so quitting out of the whole game resets this.

  Also, for me anyway, I had to start a game as both Sonic and Knuckles in the same sitting; it didn't unlock after playing as Sonic, switching off, then coming back to play as Knuckles.

  I had an issue where i finished a Knuckles game, and started as Sonic, it didn't unlock. Turns out you have to start a new game with each character in the same session, loading a save does not work.

  It's easiest to do this before you start playing in earnest. I thought I'd get it in the process when I finished my game as Knuckles (which I started a day or two before) and started a game as Sonic, but it didn't register then. I saved, backed out, started a game as Knuckles, and got the Achievement before the level's intro had fully appeared.
