How to unlock the Another One Bites the Dust achievement

    ***UPDATE***
Players are reporting that there's a (good) bug where if you're at least level 50 then you just have to play one more championship in the Hot Wheels Horizon Open to unlock the achievement. I tried playing a Hot Wheels championship after already having level 100 and it gave me the level 200 badge. My guess is that switching between the regular Horizon Open and Hot Wheels Horizon Open (or vice versa) doubles your current level temporarily. So if you're between levels 51-99 while doing regular Horizon Open then you can try to do a Hot Wheels Open championship and see if the achievement unlocks early for you.
    ***END UPDATE***

The quickest way I've found to level up is to do S2 Street racing.

    1. Select a fast, easy to control S2 class car. My suggestion: Koenigsegg CCGT with tune 732 604 811. Another option from the AutoShow is the Ferrari FXX K with tune 955 500 683. If that car is too expensive then any S2 class car is fine. The vast majority of XP will come from simply finishing and not from performing well.
    2. Go to the Online tab of the menu and select Horizon Open.
    3. Select the Custom Racing option towards the right.
    4. Set Racing Series to "STREET" and Performance Class to "S2".

Street races will only be point-to-point so you won't have to deal with long, 3-lap races. Plus, being S2 will make the races end really quickly. You only accumulate Horizon Open XP at the end of the championship so be sure not to quit until the 3 event championship is finished.

This post from the Forza forums claims that it takes 4k XP to go up a level from levels 0-100. You get 20k XP(5 levels) just for finishing a championship. Plus another 5k XP if you win. This matches up with my experience. I would level up about 6-8 levels after every championship with this method.

If we say you gain 6 levels after every tournament and an average tournament takes 15 minutes then that would take you about 4 hours to go from level 0 to level 100.

Per MysterioBadass, also check your car's mastery for any XP boosts. For example, the CCGT has a mastery you can purchase that permanently boosts your event finish XP by 20% which can allow you to level up noticeably faster.

alreadydead97The glitch only gave me an extra 10 levels. I switched between Mexico and hot wheels open a few times and eventually got to 100

Rich swv1For some reason I'm being sent back to the open world after every race so can't even finish a championship right now.

Alias DJAHello all, whether you are a Forza Horizon Veteran, or new player this isn’t as impossible as I initially thought so a few tips and tricks for those who go for it.

It’s 4000xp / level, regardless of level progress up to 100 and beyond. Completing it WILL award XP regardless, but of course higher finishing position after the 3 events - will reward additional XP bonus.

You are going to want a few choice cars to give yourself a fighting chance at a podium finish, so be sure to take note of the OP cars that are winning, get your own and stick a tune on it.

General winners on the racing side was the Boneshaker (A Class) / Ford GT’08 (S1 Class) / and the Mercedes Benz X Class ( A & S1 class )

If you like to go drifting, it’s really your own preference but would stick to cars instead of vans and trucks as some tracks are very narrow and windy and don’t leave a lot of room.

If you like your playground games, you’ll want the Can Am track toy buggy ideally in each of the classes ( C B A & S1 ).

Custom races do award XP progression, and also double up for the Back in the Saddle, and One for All achievement.

If you’ve made it this far, and want an easy top up of money to fund the cars & tunes for the above, there was a trick I was taught. You will need a willing buyer that can help you out, but the process is simple.

Purchase a BMW M3 08 from the Autoshow for 45,000cr then sell the car with buyout set to 12million cr.

    Instant bank.

    Enjoy!

WereySo... Why do I never gain exp? I do one race, get booted to single player and that's it. Where's this 3 race championship stuff? What a terrible game.

Never GeorgeWerey, the issue you are experiencing is due to the “Quick Resume” feature. Make sure you start the game fresh each time to avoid the connection issue. I have had the same problem and just avoid using “Quick Resume” when playing online.

Zorc freeksThe glitch is patched but I was getting 20-40k XP in hotwheels horizon open doing the race championships, the races are easy and you can use the cars you got in the hotwheels campaign, a lot of people there aren't as good as in the main game so it's easier to win imo.
