For those who want to enjoy the game without using a solver!
The game is different every time, so I can't tell you how to win it. But I can tell you how to play this version, which may be very different than what you're used to!
This is a different kind of Solitaire than you may be used to - it's like a cross between Klondike and solo MahJong.
The basic premise is the same as classic solitaire (aka Patience), where you have to stack cards in numerical order away from the main play area. However, it comes with some major differences:
- There are only 3 numbered suits, consisting of numbers 1-9.
- The 3 numbered suits each have their own colour - BLACK, RED and GREEN
- There are three DRAGON suits (cards without numbers on them), each one consisting of four identical cards
- There's a single card with a flower on it.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER TO MAKE WINNING EASIER!
- As the 3 suits each have their own colour, when moving cards around from one column to another, remember it doesn't have to go BLACK > RED > BLACK > RED like in regular Solitaire. It can go BLACK > RED > GREEN, or GREEN > BLACK > RED, or GREEN > RED > GREEN > BLACK > RED > BLACK etc. As soon as you get used to looking for three colours instead of two, you'll find it a whole lot easier!
- There are only 27 cards in total which you have to get out, rather than 52. Three suits of 9 cards each.
- The FLOWER card doesn't seem to do anything - I think it's there to break the deck up and increase the likelihood of getting the cards shuffled differently each turn.
- At the top LEFT of the playing area are three "hold" spaces. You can put ANY card into these to store them, and bring them back into play later.
- The DRAGON cards are blockers which attempt to stop you from getting to the cards you need. If you manage to get all four identical DRAGON cards of one type exposed at once, you can press the matching wooden button at the top of the screen to remove them from play. Bear in mind this takes up one of your hold spaces, but you WILL need to do it!
- Your priorities are to get the "1" cards out and to get rid of the DRAGON cards. Once you get used to shuffling cards from stack to stack, it becomes a lot easier than it first seems! Don't be frightened of using the HOLD spaces!
The very best of luck - I hope I've helped clarify a few things on your way to winning a hundred games of this. Notes that the number you've won is displayed along the bottom of the Solitaire screen, to the left hand side.
