  1) Creators Club, Scenario Planner, Training Centre
  2) Create new, X for new service, add main loop east 2 for start marker
  3) switch line shunt to main loop 1, confirm path
  4) click main loop west 1, confirm destination
  5) confirm instructions, confirm service
  6) choose BNSF SD40-2, pick BNSF SD40- 2X3 at the bottom. Confirm, save exit.
  7)All brakes off, gen field on, reverser forward, then loop round, I got to 278km/h after 15mins, 3hours AFK should be enough.
  8) start, options, main menu just to quit then it will unlock achievements, can take a minute or two. No need to stop the train and complete scenario.
  
  Points to note this is accumulative so you don't have to do it in one go and keep your controller plugged in as it pauses the game if it disconnects.

  So, apparently if the game doesn't close down properly all progress is lost since you opened the game. I had it running all night and the tracker got up to 82 or 92%, but the computer shut down. Reopened it again to finish it off.... back down to 30%.

  @Osmo76, have you made sure the dlc was installed? I only had one train when I played before letting the dlc install. After, I had the train listed in the guide.

  I followed the guide at

  for all the base achievements including the set of miles driven achievements. The video has chapters and the 10 min mark has the driving steps.
  
  The achievements popped for me only after stopping the train and not while running the driving loop. I went to the main menu after stopping the train and the mile based achievements started popping.

  My 500 mile achievement just won't unlock. I had driven over 700 miles and every other distance based achievement unlocked but the 500 one was stuck on 97%= 488 miles. I tried deleting my local save but that didn't work so I deleted my save from everywhere and tried the afk way and after driving around 1800 klm which is around 1100 miles I'm still stuck on 97%.

  I have 100% in all miles achievements and any unlocked. Shit game, I hope that devs fix that.

  Should add that anyone with a Dovetail account that played TSW2 will have their progress carried over. I never looked at the achievements for this game and put off playing since I didn't wanna put another 350+ hours in what is essentially the same game. Was able to complete the base game in 2 hours because of this.

  If you played Train Sim World 2 a lot the achievement pop instantly after you start a scenario. Just import your TSW2 profile when you start TSW3 for the first time.
