How to unlock the First Phase achievement

    Just unlocked this in the area after the 3rd boss, you will come across a battle flag right next to a lightning wyvern spawn.

    One of it's attacks is 3 bolts of lightning which travel towards you, if you throw the poison bubbles (first spell in the metal skill tree) on the floor as he uses this attack it will cancel out the lightning bolt that hits it and unlock the achievement.

    I got this along with someone else doing this exact thing so definitely works and pretty easy to do with a flag right next to it.

    Just extra info if you're struggling to find the area, before the 4th boss from the closest flag go up the scaffolding, past the big hammer guy and you will find a big door which can be opened from this side only, open that and the area is directly in front of you

    For this achievement to unlock you must counter an enemy's spell with your own spell

    So if an enemy pumps out a an earth spell you can shoot it down with a wood spell for example

    Use the element that overcomes the enemy spell
    As the game states
    "Wood overcomes earth
    Fire overcomes metal
    Water overcomes fire
    Metal overcomes wood
    Earth overcomes water"

    BeythildI got it on the Aoye fight when he has those ice sheets covering the field using an earth spell

    Some symbols appeared and it unlocked for me

    I am not sure if it works with enviormental stuff so that may have been a solution

    WhyattThrashI think you can also get it if an enemy counters your spell. I think I got it by running the life steal spell (wood) while being hit by poison (metal).

    EDIT: Yeah just confirmed this on a second account. Travel to "Fall of the corrupted eunuch", pop the life steal spell "Absorb Vitalilty", then run and get hit by the first spider. Some symbols should appear, your life steal spell should disappear, and the achievement pops if you don't have it already.
