Just wanted to throw this out there. If you have a problem with losing all your previously attained weapons and starting over for any reason, you can turn off the "Autosave" feature in the options section of the pause menu. Then you may "Pass into Legend," get your achievement, and go to the dashboard. When you load up multiplayer again you will still be level 50.

Adelbert DunbarYes it does work. Just quit the game from the Xbox menu

Friggin GreaseThis is a great tip, but not really a solution. But you best believe I told everybody I know about the trick, lol. Because I was able to pop this one before Advanced Co-Op, and for Advanced Co-Op you probably want to use the "No Holds Barred" class, and that's useless if you're a low level.

This achievement from the Legends and Killers DLC is unlockable once you reach rank 50 in multiplayer, which happens once you accumulate 337,110 XP. To unlock it, select Outfitter on the multiplayer menu and press Y to pass into legend. You will be prompted twice before the action is carried out.

When you pass into legend, your XP resets at zero. All of the challenges - e.g. Lawbringer, Bounty Hunter, etc. - are reset. You lose the weapons and mounts you have unlocked, but you do NOT lose the characters and titles you have unlocked. You also do not lose any game types/maps you have unlocked. For example, if you have unlocked Advanced Co-op missions, they will still be unlocked after you pass into legend. If you have earned a golden gun, it will still be golden in any game types/maps that have it, and when you unlock it again in free roam, it will be automatically be golden.

If your goal is to reach legend level 5 in multiplayer as quickly as possible, you will generally want to pass into legend as soon as you hit rank 50, because any XP you earn at rank 50 are wasted. The main reason you might not want to pass into legend immediately is if you are close to getting a golden gun. If you reach rank 50 and you have, say, 82 headshots on a specific gun, you might want to hang out at level 50 for a while and get those last 18 headshots before passing into legend, because once you pass into legend, you will start back at zero.

Lt DavoI posted the process that I used to pass into legend three times. People said it didn't work. I knew from 3x experience that it did. Obviously, people were having trouble with it, but it wasn't an easy thing for me to go back through the steps again to see why ... that would have meant putting a ton of hours into a game I quit playing long ago, just to go through a couple of menus. I'm glad that twelve years later, someone finally came along and explained where the confusion came from. Hopefully, the two or three words I had to change in the solution will make it more correct.

Lt Davo@EverStoned77 all is good ... I regretted the annoyed tone from my earlier comment and came back to edit it. I pressed the wrong button and accidentally deleted it, so I added a new one back that is only about 10 percent as snarky. wink I appreciate both your original comment and your clarification.

EverStoned77All good, I can't guarantee I wouldn't have reacted the exact same way hehe & again in hindsight the "should've been..." comment served absolutely no purpose & since the TA article about SoMe behavior I've been trying to think more about saying the same thing but without stuff like exactly that, in other words trying to be more polite as that's most definitely something the internet as a general need & SoMe is crucially lacking but no new behavior comes quick & thankfully there's the edit button hehe so hey I get it, when you try to help people it is annoying to have some (eh, polite .. .. let's see, wanker? No probably not wink) one criticising your work but personally what I hate most is downvotes without at least clarifying why that being said how I'd react to the clarification is a good question lol wave

Reach level 50, once at level 50, go to multiplayer from the pause menu, you will see your character profile.

Here you an press "Y" to "pass into legend".

Doing so net's you the achievement.

Alternatively if you're already in legendary status before the DLC pack, all you have to do is login & you will be awarded the achievement automatically as soon as you load up multiplayer.

    ***ATTENTION RDR1 GRINDERS***

This is the best solution that doesn't involve finding a modded lobby in 2023!

I've also seen a lot of players claiming "Twin Rocks" is a great farm spot, but that is simply not true netting only 348 XP on average. (This would take around 900 replays)

    PIKES BASIN GANG HIDEOUT (SOLO)

Yes, this will be your quickest farm method to achieving rank 50 and passing into Legend. Each completion (on average) will land you around 1,820 XP! I've received a tad more on most occasions hitting numbers like 1,835/ 1,830 XP.

The quickest I've completed this hideout was under 5 mins at 4:52.72 and the longest it's taken me was 6:24.43 with 2 deaths. I still netted 1,830 XP with this time.

Start at the top of Pikes Basin and make your way down to the herd area. You should clear the right path first, and the left path last. You will end the hideout with around 49 kills. The Evans repeater (found at Pikes Basin) and Mauser pistol (found at Twin Rocks) with casual aim mode makes this child's play, although the enemy does hit hard. Make sure to pick up repeater ammo.

337,000 XP is needed for the achievement. For a level 1 player it would take around 185 replays of "Pikes Basin" to reach level 50 and pass into Legend. (337,000/1,820= 185.22) I am RANK 21 as of writing this and possibly need 156 more replays to reach RANK 50. Another player who gave up on modded lobbies as well claims this method took him 20-25 hours alone.

I'll edit this post if I have an update on my 156 replays. I'm keeping track! ;)
