To gain this achievement, you must get at least an A ranking on 80% or more of the game's total campaign missions across all characters.

As 80s said, you need to have an A rank on 80% or more of all campaign missions. I didn't find getting A ranks to be near as hard in this game as it was in the first (mostly on some stages, though), but I thought I'd add a few tips...

Kills, combo length and time taken all seem to affect your ranking. The two biggest factors by far are your mission bonus for finishing missions, and dying. Make sure you do as many optional missions as possible. Mission bonus is generally the single biggest bonus out of everything, so worry about it above everything else.

Dying subtracts a static 5000 points from your ranking, so you obviously want to avoid this. The mission bonus tends to be higher than 5000, so even if you die, if you get a lot of the optionals, you still have a fair chance of getting an A rank.

Also note that dying multiple times does not increase the points penalty, so after you die once, you don't have to worry about losing points from dying again.

Since Maggni is probably the worst character in the game, and his missions tend to be harder, I'd suggest concentrating on getting as many A ranks as possible with the other four before trying to do his with A ranks.
