In Single Player play a throw-away game (let the time run out on the case files and giving Zobrex to Katey) and continue the game.

    Collect the following magazines:

Combat 1 - Palisades Mall 2F, Stan's Large Print Books and Magazines.

Combat 2 - Royal Flush Plaza 1F, Yesterday Today and Tommorow.

OPTIONAL - Combat 3 - Underground, Near westernmost underground access point. The first two magazines should do to be honest and you will need to play the game a little to gain access to the Underground first anyway.

Horror 1 - Royal Flush Plaza 2F, Ragazines.

Horror 2 - Palisades Mall, Stans Large Print Books and Magazines.

Once you have these go to Fortune Park (near the Silver Strip) and from there head to the front of the Atantica Casino (don't go in). To the right of the Casino entrance is a Maintainence Room with a convieniently placed Hunk of Meat and Dynamite outside. Collect these and combine them to make a DynaMeat in that Maintainence Room.

Once you make the DynaMeat exit the Maintainence Room and turn immediately left and continue staying close to the wall. Shortly you should see quite a large grouping of zombies. This crowd can be described as being directly south of the save point in the rock formation/fountain structure in the centre of Fortune Park.

Select the DynaMeat and aim 45 degrees down to the ground so it hits it first and it goes into a dense crowd too. This will take a little practice. You want to stop the Dynameat from bouncing away from a crowd as it has a tendancy to do this, hence throwing it at the ground first. Try to avoid it deflecting off a zombie also before it hitting the ground. I also recommend standing on the small outcrop with grass on so you can aim at a large crowd easily without being attacked. If done correctly the DynaMeat will stop in a large crowd and can take down 40 to 50 zombies a time at 600pp a kill with no DynaMeat combo card. Thats a possible 30000pp a run. Make sure to stand and watch the Dynameat go off as I have done this before and not gained pp as I ran off as soon as I threw the DynaMeat. The more levels you gain the better the pp gains also as you become more powerful.

Once done go into and straight back out of the nearby Atlantica Casino to Fortune Park again. Go back to the same Maintainence Room and the Hunk of Meat and Dynamite will respawn for you to make another Dynameat. Keep repeating the process above. Each run takes around 2 minutes thanks mainly to those loading screens.

At Lv36ish you should get the Dynameat Combo card doubling PP gain to 1200 a kill. Thats 60000pp in a good throw. To add to this you get 750pp per 50 kills and 30000pp per 1000 kills (which will happen a few times). I managed to get from Lv36 to 50 in 30 minutes with this method.

Theres also a save point in the rock formation/fountain structure in the centre of Fortune Park to save at.

RealityBitesDogGreat method, worked sweet for me. Took a bit of learning to get right - sometimes if I threw too far I got 0-10 kills, other times I got it just right I got 40-50+ kills. Thanks for this great solution, well done. clap

EarthboundXI just stuff the bomb into a zombies mouth, and other zombies group up around that zombie, boom.

SchiZoPHreNiikzYeah, run into the crowd and press X on a zombie to stuff the bomb in its mouth. Don’t gotta worry about it bouncing around. Also, run to the save point, save, load save and repeat the whole process. It’s quicker than the two loading screens for Atlantics Casino, and it also ensures you’re saving constantly. Win-win!

There are a lot of solutions here that work. Allow me to summarize (no disrespect intended to those others who have posted solutions):

You can use the map here to find pretty much anything in the game: environment stuff that gives PP, magazines, weapons, etc.

    http://msxbox-world.com/features/Dead-Rising-2/index.php

"legit" ways to easily gain PP:

    - Play Case Zero in the Live arcade. You can get up to level 5 and that carries over into the full game.

    - Give Katey gifts. Many can be found right outside the safe room. See the gift achievement solutions for a complete list.

    - Rescue survivors. Even on a disposable run (like an "all foods" or "all clothing" run), you can pick up the easy survivors. Unlike the original game, survivors in DR2 are pretty competent and can defend themselves and generally keep up with you. Try giving them guns or decent weapons like the fire axe to help their survivability. Survivors from later in the game are worth a lot more than the ones on day one.

    - Kill psychopaths. Some of them are really easy to kill once you get the pattern down and they give lots of PP when you kill them.

    - Use the environment. The craps pit in the Royal Flush Plaza, for example, is 10k PP for throwing the fuzzy die a few times to make 7. So is riding the waterslide in Palisades Mall. You can do this every time you re-enter an area. If work at this while completing your other tasks, you will get a lot of extra PP for very little work.

    - Use combo weapons. Some of the combo weapons generate quite a bit of PP. Every maintenance room has components nearby to build combo weapons, so build them often and kill zombies as you go. Also, heavy attacks (hold X) are worth quite a bit more PP than light attacks so try to use those.

    - Use magazines. There are magazines which will boost your PP rewards for killing zombies and psychopaths and rescuing survivors. The "survivor rescue" magazine also boosts PP when giving Katey gifts.

    - Finish the game. Every time you finish the game, whether you get a good or bad ending, you get a boatload of PP.

    "grindy/cheater" ways of leveling

    - Abuse the magazine glitch. Have your friend collect magazines in their game and save their progress. If you invite them into your game while they are playing single player, they will arrive with their inventory. Have them drop their magazines, quit out, and repeat. You can fill as many of your inventory slots with Horror or Rescue magazines as you like and really boost your PP rewards this way.

    - Abuse the survivor rescue glitch. Have a friend create a save where they have multiple survivors in the bathroom outside of the safe house in Royal Flush Plaza . Have them invite you into their game, then save the survivors, giving a bunch of PP. You quit out and save your game while your friend reloads the save. Repeat. Works best with survivors from later in the game (they are worth more XP) and if you are carrying multiple Rescue magazines (see the magazine glitch above).

    - Grind on killing zombies, especially with combo weapons and multiple Horror magazines. One of the other solutions (WidestSunil) mentions a dynameat strategy in Fortune Park. If you go this route, keep in mind that saving and then loading that save is a faster way to reset the zombies and weapons than entering and leaving an area.

    Pedle ZelnipGreat stuff, thumbs up.

Just wondering, any idea how much PP you need for lvl 50?
Posted by Pedle Zelnip on 24 Feb 11 at 04:27
Pedle ZelnipAnswer: around 5,000,000. I had 5,207,134 PP when I hit level 50, and that was after saving the 4 Tape it or Die survivors while holding the %25 PP for survivor book (so would've been a few hundred thousand PP).

This exploit will only rank up the guest, not the host.
Quick Description: If you are in your friends game and he saves then latter he reloads his game, he will revert to the stats he had minutes ago, but you being the guest will keep the stats you made. This is a guide showing how to exploit this.
Step 1: Get in your friends game and gather as many survivors as possible
Step 2: get them to the steps near the vent to enter the Safe house area(Hold LT and Y to tell them to wait on the steps)
Step 3: Enter the Safe house and have your friend save his game
Step 4: Go back out and get the survivors, bring them into the Safe house
Step 5: Have your friend reload his save game
Step 6: Keep repeating step 4-5

This solution is very similar to the one written by Gogore WoD. I would not have written/ made the video if he had his up first, but after making my guide(on the same day he made his, click on the you-tube video to see the date it was made) I was unable to upload since i had not been scanned and remained un-scanned for 3 days. I think that some people may still want the video, so i will leave it up. But i give credit to Gogore WoD since he did have his up first.
