This achievement is Trials – Chapter I, awarded for completing all the trials in Chapter I.

As a general rule when approaching trials, I recommend changing the difficulty to ‘Squire’ in the main menu (Configuration - Difficulty). This will allow you to charge up Combat Focus very quickly, as well as making combat a little easier in general, so that’s a good place to start. If you're having trouble with a particular trial, just keep at it - extra practice and better knowledge of the stages are typically enough to get you through any trial.

The trials in the first chapter are pretty simple, with the exception of the last one, in Chapter 1-5 (Oblivion Lake). I’ll put some tips for the last level in this chapter at the beginning, because you’ll probably be able to get the other four with little trouble (the solution to Pan’s puzzle given by the in-game scroll completes the trial).

In Chapter 1-5 (Oblivion Lake), you’ll need to defeat the Ice Titan in under a minute and a half (1:30). At first glance, this may seem fundamentally impossible, and if you’re trying to complete this challenge immediately after beating the level for the first time, it will be impossible.

The key is your Shadow Crystal (which you acquire in Chapter 2-7). The Ice Titan is weak to the Shadow Crystal, so blast him with it as soon as he appears. Doing so will dramatically reduce his health bar, allowing you to destroy the magic runes on his body with one blow each. Even with that added advantage, this trial is far from easy. You’ll have to be quick to get up the Titan in the required time.

The timer starts when the Titan winds up for his second punch. At that time, I’d take about four steps to the left and jump to avoid the shockwave (having the Seraph Shoulders from Chapter 8 makes this easier). While in the air, I then latched onto his arm and immediately started climbing.

As for the actual climbing process, here are a couple general tips: First, always jump when proceeding sideways unless you’re very close to a rune. Second, begin moving as soon as possible after each of the Titan’s attempts to shake you off (Gabriel will lose his grip twice, holding on with only one hand – after the second time he flails around, you can safely begin moving, despite the fact that the text telling you to hold RT is still on-screen).

As a sort of landmark time, I was able to get the first rune when I had 1:05 left on the clock. From there, I had no trouble finishing at about :05, even after making a couple little mistakes, so you might want to aim for that. If you miss it, I suggest retrying from the last checkpoint (or restart the entire chapter if the checkpoint has logged some time) so that you don’t have to worry about collecting another Shadow Crystal.

I find this to be one of the hardest trials in the game, requiring many, many attempts to get it right. Like with most of the trials, practice makes it easier, so just keep at it until you can get it done.

With that out of the way, here are some quick suggestions for the other stages in this chapter:

In Chapter 1-1 (Besieged Village), you must defeat the Great Warg with at least one of the villagers surviving. This isn’t too bad, even on the higher difficulties, as long as you take a fairly aggressive approach with the boss. Just don’t give him enough time to kill any villagers and you’ll be fine. It’ll be even easier if you come back after you’ve picked up some of the later relics/upgrades,

In Chapter 1-2 (Hunting Path), you cannot heal by any means while progressing through the level. Healing includes not just Light Magic or Healing Fonts, but also the Life Gem hiding in this stage. Even so, this trial is fairly straightforward, particularly on ‘Squire’ difficulty – just don’t die and don’t heal and you’ll be all right.

You can abuse checkpoints (just let yourself die and start at the last checkpoint) for this trial, too, if you’re having trouble. You probably won’t need it, though, particularly if you’re coming back after completing some of the later stages.

In Chapter 1-3 (The Dead Bog), you need to kill 50 Goblins before completing the level. Just work through the stage normally until you reach the area where you have to knock down a tree with grenades. There will be an endless spawn of Goblins until you bring the tree down, so just kill them until you get 50.

In Chapter 1-4 (Pan’s Temple), you have to complete the puzzle in five movements. Move the innermost ring clockwise twice, then the outermost ring clockwise twice, then the middle ring clockwise once and you’ll have it.

I don’t expect that most people would have any difficulty with the first four trials in this chapter (Pan’s puzzle may be a bit tricky for some, but the scroll in-game gives the above solution), but if I’m wrong about that assumption, please let me know and I’ll expand the guides for the first four a bit. Otherwise, happy hunting!
