Playing on professional is defiently the way to go. This achievement is 100% luck based because there is no way you can control the computer getting the shots that hit the side of the table and you have no way to return them. I have been trying for this for several days and you basically just have to keep mixing up your shots to get the computer off balance. It seems everytime I get to about 7 - 0 either the computer hits a shot that hits the side of the table or my shot hits the net and doesn't go over. Preservence is the key.

    EDIT 1/29/10***

I beat this finally. What I found worked was to swing early and you can get better shots across the table and just rotate between a backhand to one side of the table then a forehand to the other and keep the computer going back and forth as much as possible as this causes them to hit the slow floating shots you can smash back at them. When you are smashing them be sure to mix up where you hit it so they don't keep returning them.

    EDIT 1/5/12****

Afterburner brought up another good tip:

I also held the controller in my left hand (hitting with right) for any slam shots the computer hit just hit the guide button a second after they hit so you can see where it is going to go and have a chance to return it.

x Morgan Kane xGot this today on my 2nd try. The thing i did different from earlier tries was to stand so close to the table as possible. Had no problem defeating him.

Andrinho7xI agree that this is 100% luck based. Today I was winning 10-0 and then the AI had the wonderful idea to hit the side of the table. I was so furious!!!! I still have to get the achievement now!

Lazy with StyleThx worked like a charm. Was hitting early and staying close to the table. I had the controller in my left hand but I did not need it. 4th try, first was 11:1 and Kinect didnt recognize me swinging for the one point I lost. Do not give up!

I did this in 2 player LOCAL co-op. (There is no co-op over xbox live) I had tried it several times and it had never crossed my mind to attempt it with 2 players, whichs makes it so much easier.

When we were playing Championship difficulty we realised eventually that it was best to both stand at the corners of the table and hit every shot as a backhand. Stand with your legs apart and slightly bent, and don't move to get the shots just lean. We barely missed any shots this way. Dropping down to Professional made this even easier.

Don't try to hit the ball hard, just get your paddle to it. It should require minimal movement, and it's suprising how many 'slow' shots the opponents will actually miss.

When you get a smash opportunity, this is the only time you move from your position and do a normal forehand smash.

Unfortunately you can't do anything about it when they hit the side of the table, but this only happened to us once in our 3 attempts. Have a good high five moment after each point you score just to keep yourself relaxed and not get too stressed for the last few points. It's easy to over-concentrate and do something stupid :D

The opponents always alternate who takes the shot, so try and take advantage of this by aiming your smashes right back at the guy who just hit the ball - thanks drabik!

Zalexzydoesn't work over live, need to be local, so you need real friend or slave to help you.

Had session for this but found out it doesn't work so decided to play myself. After many tries I beat champion level, then drop down to professional level to do this achievement felt like playing easy level as you know how to play game.

Locoman99+1 to the co-op method! Several tries solo with no luck, was able to do it like half an hour with a partner. Did the co-op game on Professional.

    This was "our" approach
    Two Player Game Vs Professional.

Positioned only an arms length apart so that the centre was covered,
we both went for anything in the middle, making the middle 'safe'...ish.

    ALL return hits were back-hands,
the Left player using their left hand,
    right player their right hand.

With your centre 'sorted' then, those outside shots you have to return are best done with :
an elbow high...arm parallel with the floor, forearm hanging down, quick back handed flick.

The human body moves quicker with outward movements than inward...part of our instinctive defence mechanism to throw an arm in the way of a strike, etc
...this stance will make the best of your evolution. smile

It's worth practicing this zombie / robot / gibbon type stance it really will help you return the shots.

Against Professional it's a matter of maintaining the rally until they mess up.

There really isn't "a way" or a "glitch or cheat, etc".

What worked for us was this Centre's Covered, Get the Outer Ones stance, described above and 3 to 4 days of tenacity.
