This is a tricky mission, but it is soloable. Once you understand how it works, it's not bad at all, and very exciting.

Note I'm playing on Realistic.

To start off with, a few tips that are crucial for your success:
-use your Hydra rockets, lots of them. They reload - IF YOU USE THEM UP - in only seven seconds. If you only have a few left, fire them off so you reload.
-resist the urge to use your Hellfires on anything except armoured and heavy armoured targets.
-when you first get eyes on targets, fire off all your rockets from extreme range... by the time you're done, you might just reload in time to fire some more as you pass over the target.
-you don't need to land to capture an LZ - if the area is clear, fly near it and you'll see it change colour on the radar.
-the whole region is absolutely crawling with insurgents, so be careful when landing or at low speed/low altitude as they'll be firing at you (and your gunner will be constantly firing at them)

You also need to understand what the timer is telling you:
-when the timer is counting DOWN, that's bad: it means that one or more of the LZs is occupied by the enemy.
-when the timer is counting UP, that's good: it means all the LZs are currently held by friendlies. Once that counts up to 2 minutes, that's mission complete.
-when the enemy takes an LZ, the countdown timer starts. The countup timer stops, and any time you've accumulated on it stays until all the LZs are safe again, whereupon it will resume.
-whenever you take an LZ, the countdown timer either resets to 3 minutes (if other LZs are held by the enemy) or disappears to be replaced by the countup timer (if all LZs are safe)
-securing ANY LZ will reset the countdown timer, even if it wasn't the first one to be lost.

We good to go?

There's three LZs, arrange in a roughly circular area. I did the mission flying in a clockwise circuit, so when you start LZ1 is off to the left, LZ2 is straight ahead, LZ3 is on the right.

Fly to LZ1, you'll pass over a big viaduct over the valley. Pound the crap out of the enemies, fly low by the LZ to capture it. Now, fly to LZ2. Along the way, you'll see another group of enemy vehicles heading for LZ1. Take care of them.

Continue to LZ2, and you'll see a small viaduct passing over the valley. If you've worked fast, you'll see another convoy passing under it towards LZ2. Blow them up, and then deal with any enemies already at LZ2 to secure it.

Now, fly up and over the mountain towards LZ3. LZ3 is in a huge valley, so as you crest the hill and the targets come into view, fire all your rockets at them as per my tip above. As you descend into the valley, your rockets will reload and you won't have many targets left to deal with.

Good job, all the LZs are secure. Head back for LZ1 immediately, as you'll notice it gets captured while you're enroute.

Do another circuit of the LZs, clearing them in order, using only rockets and the cannon.

When you get to LZ3 a second time, you'll see why I told you to conserve your Hellfires... a column of five tanks is approaching from the north! Use Hellfires to take them out. If you're a skilled pilot, you might consider quickly landing at LZ3 to re-arm immediately but it's not essential to do so. Proceed back to LZ1.

There's more armoured vehicles waiting at LZ1, and these are equiped with anti-air missiles. Use your remaining Hellfires to take them out. Try your best to use up all your Hellfires here, to start the reloading timer as soon as possible.

With LZ1 secure, go to LZ2 and resecure it. Continue to LZ3. As before, after you've secured it, an armoured column will appear from the pass in the north. If you've used up all your Hellfires, you should have maybe 30 seconds left to wait. If not, you might be forced to land at LZ3 to rearm so you can take them out.

Don't leave the area, as two more groups of (light) enemies will spawn, practically on top of LZ3, to steal it back almost immediately! Take care of them, which will helpfully reset the countdown timer again. Land if you need to/want to because you'll need Hellfires again at LZ1. Go there.

Kill the armoured enemies at LZ1. LZ1 and LZ3 should now both be secure, leaving just LZ2.

A swarm of enemy helicopters await you at LZ2, so be prepared. You only have four Stingers, so you'll need to use your cannon and rockets to take them all out in time. This is the trickiest part, and all I can advise is to get in fairly close and then just rocket rocket rocket to knock them out as quickly as possible. If they damage you, you might find it easier to deliberately crash rather than try and dogfight with a damaged chopper!

Don't forget to destroy any enemy ground units on LZ2. Once the LZ is secure, the mission is over, achievement unlocked. You have earned a cold beer.

Lots of detail, but it's a complicated mission. Good luck!
