  *Buildings built within DLC worlds count*
  This will come over the course of the game but it will take a some time to achieve it.
  The 100 buildings must all exist at once over all 3 worlds, if you destroy one it will not count towards the 100 until rebuilt.
  
  Once i finished the story i had built 84 buildings, the majority of which are required for progress in the game (i did the bare minimum to progress). All buildings count, from houses to castles.
  
  If you're still short of the 100 once you have finished the story you can just build houses/huts (hearts are not required to finish the building) till you get the 100.
  
  You can check the leaderboards from the start menu and open 'Total Buildings Built' to see how many you have built (the leaderboard can be a little slow to update). Warboy925 also notes that you can build houses in a new world and have then count.

  Yup 115+ right now. Still not unlocking. Just gonna keep building houses I guess.

  Another thing to note about this achievement is that you will not get the achievement when you reach 100 buildings built exactly as the buildings you have when you start each kingdom count on the leaderboards but not to the achievement. There are about 15 buildings that the keflings have already built.
  
  You can just build a house with the four items and YOU DO NOT need the heart which you normally need to complete the house.
  
  This is the last achievement I got in the game.

  I think the wording in this solution might actually be flipped. Judging from when the achievement popped for me, I believe the initial buildings do count towards the achievement but not towards the leaderboard number. When I finished the game I had around 65-70 buildings as my leaderboard number and then built some random houses and it popped for me around 85 I think.

  Says in the solution you don't need hearts anymore to build houses after the game is complete? Is that correct? Or you don't have to complete them with hearts to get credit for the homes? I've completed the game but went back to the ice region and I still need hearts to complete them.

  It might be worth noting, that both the build 100 buildings and the 25 unique decorative pieces achievements are cumulative across all worlds. E.G. I got both while playing the DLC, I had about 60 buildings in the main story and 40 in the DLC and *bloop*. Same went for the decorative pieces building achievement, only had to build 2 in the DLC to unlock it.
