Simply amazing.

I have to say, they just keep getting better. Here's hoping that Bioware releases an expansion soon. If it follows the current trend, an expansion would be mindblowing.

On to the DLC itself.

Firstly gameplay. Lair of the Shadow Broker offers no new powers or weapons, so gameplay remains largely unchanged. Why fix what's not broke, eh? However, the level design is so good that the lack of change is worth it. I found myself having the most fun in combat that I probably ever have in ME2. It was just a blast!

On to story. Overlord's main drawing point was its great story. LotSB is just as good. Although it isn't qutie as complex as Overlord's story, this new tale is quite entertaining, and put together with Bioware's usual skill. It is thoroughly entertaining. The extra bits after the bulk of the story are very, very interesting, and are part of what affirmed me in the belief that this is ME2's best DLC yet.

Finally, miscellaneous. That means achievements. LotSB comes with 5 relatively straightforward achievements, worth a total of 200 GS. Whether this is worth 800 MSP is up to you. Now, something that has been a bit of a problem with past DLCs, length. The DLC will not be touted for how long it is, but that is to be expected. I have heard reports of around 2 hours for completion. I can not given an accurate time span, as I took breaks while playing and didn't record how long these breaks were. Again, judge the length for yourself, it is up to you to determine if 2 or so hours is worth the MSP.

In short, LotSB is a great addition to the ME2 DLC lineup. Mass Effect fans will be very pleased, as this DLC brings more of what we all love.

5 of 5 stars.
