The first update for the windows 10 edition of Minecraft first of all brings a lot of bug fixes and gameplay improvements. Moreover, the so called friendly update added achievements to the Android, Ios, Kindle Fire and Gear VR, and it added 4 new achievements to the windows 10 edition of Minecraft. You can now play online with other friends on Xbox live, or join yourself on a different device.

The most noticeable new items and features added to the game are first of all the pistons. You can now use both regular and sticky pistons to push or pull items. To do so, you will need a lever and if you want to have some distance between the piston and the lever, some redstone as well. The friendly update also brings horses to Minecraft, along with leads and dyeable horse armor. You can find different types of horses, each having different colors on their skin. Moreover, you can now use saddles to ride pigs. Also a brand new User Interface is added to the game. Besides, you can find different villages in taigas and savanna's and you can now tip arrows with cauldrons and potion.

Mojang has also thought about new monsters and ways to fight them. You can encounter husk zombies in the desert and stray skeletons in tundras. Last but not least, there are skeleton horse traps to be made!

The 4 new achievements which Mojang added to the windows 10 edition involve:
Riding a pig with a saddle and then have the pig take falling damage. You might remember doing this achievement on one of the console versions.

The other 3 have never been seen in an other version of Minecraft and are as follows:
- Push a piston with a piston, then pull the original piston with that piston.
- Breed a mule from a horse and a donkey.
- Tame a horse.

This can all relatively easy be accomplished by using one of the worlds provided by the community.

In conclusion:
Pros:
- New achievements
- Achievements added to new platforms
- Online multiplayer (also between different versions)

Cons:
- Rather small update
- Rarely encounter some new features/items
