Posted on 04 March 09 at 04:14I got this idea after GTWT was posting about board games and how they were something he and his GF could play together, while I was planning on posting a similar comment. The situation often arises that I am not sure what games would be best suited to play with my girlfriend. Most gamers on the site have wives/girlfriends that don't enjoy your average shooter or action/adventure, and prefer more laid-back games. Here are some of my own I have played, or plan to play, with my own chica:Guitar Hero (franchise)Rock Band (franchise)Scene-It! (franchise)Trivial PursuitMonopolyAny ideas from anyone else? They would be greatly appreciated. I wonder what is out there I haven't thought about! :) Thanks.Currently Playing: Too Many Games
Posted on 04 March 09 at 04:28For wifes/GFs who are a bit more gaming adept:Gears 1 & 2 are both goodLegend of Spyro, crappy game though you may have fun with it while co-oping.Lego [Insert Franchise Here]TA Clan - 49 20 41 4d 20 4d 41 43 48 49 4e 45
Posted on 04 March 09 at 04:47Sega Superstars Tennisactually most two-player games can be added here. I know one couple that is going for Fable II, and the similar Lego co-op thing is available in other games also. All work and no play makes Jos a dull boy.
Posted on 04 March 09 at 04:52I don't think most would play Fable 2 or Gears 1 or 2, but who knows? The Lego ones are great, too! I used to play them all the time with my ex. She sucked, though, so I broke up with her. Currently Playing: Too Many Games
Posted on 04 March 09 at 05:29My tops were Guitar Hero / Rockband, Scene It!, and You're in the Movies, although some will play the occasional shooter, I managed to get my GF to play Gears 2 campaign with me, but only for 45 mins. before she got bored~TA Clan~ You can cut the tension with a +6 Sword!
Posted on 04 March 09 at 18:25I have the opposite problem, trying to get the hubby to game with me. It's pretty much pulling teeth to get him to play anything other than the GH/RB (or even Rock Revolution) games. I was able to suck him into trying to help with the N+ co-op levels. What a disaster *shudders*. Honestly, other than music games on the PS2 and 360, I think he's spent more time on Cooking Mama for the Wii than any other game...he's more a Wii kind of gamer.Usually when I game, he just does something else he enjoys, like reading or cooking...it leads to a much more pleasant and less stressful time than us trying to play anything not involving plastic guitars together. If a couple is comfortable enjoying different activities while still in the same space, it really does work out better.[insert pithy comment here]
Posted on 04 March 09 at 18:47Wii has a lot of great games that I didn't want to mention in here. Like Boomblox? I actually went out to the store and bought a Wii with Wii Play (and remote), a charging stand, Boomblox, Zelda, and Mario Galaxy on a whim, brought it home, and my girlfriend and I were out cold for a week playing Boomblox constantly. lolHaven't played it since that week. Haven't had time. But best $500 or so I've ever spent. Next to the 360, I guess... Err, and my guitar... And half of my laptop... Okay, so like, seventh best $500 I've ever spent. :)Currently Playing: Too Many Games
Posted on 04 March 09 at 23:09Have to agree that Guitar Hero is a goodun for couples to play together, as are the Lego games. Me and my boyfriend used to have loads of fun playing private games on CoD4 (mainly knives only on Shipment, oh the laughs) but now we live together that's a bit harder as the other Xbox is in the attic...
Posted on 05 March 09 at 01:25Since the only games I played with girls are Tekken, I probably should add the Street Fighter, the Dead or Alive and the SoulCalibur franchises to the list. All work and no play makes Jos a dull boy.
Posted on 05 March 09 at 01:35My wife played Hellboy: Science of Evil with me (she loves the movie. Also, Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Looney Toons Acme Arsenal, Gears, Ghost Recon (she's suprisingly good at it), Left 4 Dead, and will be playing RE5 with me when it comes out :)"A wise man searches not for answers, but more questions."
Posted on 05 March 09 at 11:24I wish Scene It BOS was released in Aus, I loved playing the first one with my partner.Local co-op FTW!I Heart TA!
Posted on 05 March 09 at 13:04, Edited on 05 March 09 at 13:05 by My wife really enjoys playing the LEGO games in co-op with me. The Scene It? games (as already mentioned) are also great for playing together. And she loves playing Rock Band 1 & 2 with me on guitar and her singing along. What surprised me the most is that my wife really enjoyed helping me get the Horde achievements in GoW2. She hates shooters, and doesn't like the standard GoW co-op, but absolutely loved Horde mode.
Posted on 05 March 09 at 13:43The only game i have ever been able to get my wife into was Scene it (both versions).Everything else is just frowned at. But hey, that what the soaps are for!AraknidX - are you my missing twin?
Posted on 05 March 09 at 14:07My boyfriend and me plays a lot of Gundam or samurai warriors when we play together. Or kameo. We have been playing a little viva pinata too but that is more a game for me then my boyfriend.Else I don't think we play some together that has not been said here.
Posted on 05 March 09 at 14:16Me & My girl dont' play too much at the same time, although we do like to play around with Civ Rev, passing the pad after each game. She's recently got into playing skate 2's hall of meat party mode, mainly because she likes to see other people almost die.
Posted on 05 March 09 at 16:34Ah, where to begin, me and my girlfriend played:Fable 2Gears 1 and 2Viva PinataRed Alert 3Earth Defence Force 2017Army Of Two.Any game nowadays that has co-op we will do together.
Posted on 05 March 09 at 16:38This thread kind of deviated from what I'd meant, but is still very fun. I meant for people to list what general couples would enjoy, as most girlfriends would be unwilling to play a Gears and more willing to play something like Scene-It, but it is cool hearing what people play together. Army of Two must have been interesting. :)Currently Playing: Too Many Games
Posted on 05 March 09 at 16:56You have no idea how stressful it can get when your having to drag your downed partner, especially when if you mess up your girlfriend would never let you hear the end of it :P
Posted on 05 March 09 at 18:52, Edited on 05 March 09 at 18:53 by AerodynamoHahaha!I'm picturing playing some game, like GTA4 or Army of Two, and not knowing where to go, and the girlfriend being like, "Why don't you ask someone for directions?"Currently Playing: Too Many Games
