For classification purposes?

I'm pretty sure it's not and that it just features spyro like Killer Instinct features the Arbiter.

Yes it should be. Spyro and Cynder are major characters in the storyline, (at least in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure). I wouldn't consider Skylanders a Spyro game if he was just a guest character, but since he plays such a major role in the games as well as in the comics and tv show, Skylanders should be considered a Spyro game.

Yes.

Only people who didn't play Skylanders would say it's not a Spyro game. Lego Dimensions is part of the LEGO series. It makes sense to add Skylanders to Spyro.

Spyro isn't a guest, he's a main part of the series... one of the games is named after him.

I've never played Skylanders, but one of the first lines on the wiki states "A spin-off of the Spyro series".
Unsure what we do with current games series spin-offs, whether they're grouped with the original game or placed in their own series.
