There are so many good games on sale right now... I'm really having to fight the urge not to add to my backlog! I've promised myself to only buy games that I plan on playing within the next week or so after purchasing. I'm tired of having spent money just sit on a shelf...

Ah, god dammit. My wallet is going to be empty after this week

Need your help TA. Should I get MKX with all of the DLCs or Wolfenstein Old + New Blood?

So much on sale and none of it do I want. Anything I would buy I either already have cause it's been on sale multiple times before or it's still not cheap enough for me to buy now, as it will just sit in my backlog and by the time I get to it, it will be cheaper.

I was tempted by quite a bit but I only bought Dark Souls 2 and Turok.

When I was younger I found Turok really difficult and now I wonder how I struggled. I was terrible at games back then!

Well plus you had to use the N64 controller, with its one stick, I recall it had pretty bad camera control back then on the N64.

Ended up pulling the trigger on Return to Arkham for £10.00 (predictably 2.5 times more expensive than in the US).

Is this sale list final or are there likely to be changes/additions at the end of the week? I got a free copy of FH4 with my One X, it'd be nice to have a few quid knocked off the season pass and/or car pass.

This is me exactly!!! I still have 40 or so games that I started and never finished so I am focusing on those. I always get so tempted by these sales, but unless I plan to play it right away, I try to resist the urge! smile

WTF is going on... I don't see anything that sparks my interest... Am I that fkn old already to where I start looking away from video games? Ive noticed each year, I'm less and less interested in these huge list of sales.
A simple bad habit will mar an otherwise flawless character, as a single ink drop soils the pure white page.

If I were to buy Middle-Earth: SoW and then also the Season Pass, it would be 22.50.
If I were to buy the Definitive Edition, which includes the base game + the season pass and literally nothing else, it's 24.

Am I missing something? Or is buying them separately a better deal?
    Yes, about $1.50

In New Zealand the DE is $72, the Game is $28 and the Pass is $16, so we are missing about $28. Needless to say I purchased the game for $12.50 (plus currency exchange fee) from US store, and put a $15 credit towards the pass on the NZ store.

Of course if you live in the US you can get the physical DE cheaper still in the shops.

It would be because DE has only recently released, and so isn’t discounted as much. However the person setting the discounts must not be familiar with the game, or may not even play games.

I also have a “only buy it if I have time to play it soon” rule. It took me about 20 years to figure that out as I have games over 25 years old that I still haven’t played! We all hope to find time to play every cool game that gets released, but it is just not possible.

I do make an exception for Black Friday if more than one game I have been waiting on hits the right price point.

This time I’ve grabbed Me:SoW and XCOM2. I considered SotTR and a pile of LEGO games, but I expect them to be as cheap or cheaper in the Countdown to 2019 sale, so they can wait. Next year I will be looking for FH4 for 50% off and playing some of the amazing games in my backlog (Witcher). As for Destiny 2, I will wait for them to release a complete edition, and for that to go on sale (sometime in 2020 perhaps).

Final list. Cheapest way to get Season Pass is pay $1 for GamePass to get a 10% discount. They would be crazy to put a season pass on sale when none of the content has been released yet - as it will piss off the people that paid full price day one.

What I did with my FM6 console was sell the game in NZ and bought the Ultimate Edition from US for about the same price.

In this sale the FH4 season pass + VIP works out at $15 for anyone buying UE. I guarantee you won’t see the season pass for less than $15 for at least 1 year.

Is there some mistake on the Assassin's Creed Odyssey listings? It seems that you get more with the Gold edition than you do with the more expensive Ultimate Edition...

    • Assassin's Creed Odyssey
    • Assassin's Creed III Remastered
    • Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered
    • Legacy of the First Blade Episode 1
    • The Fate of Atlantis Episode 1
    • The Fate of Atlantis Episode 2
    • Legacy of the First Blade Episode 2
    • The Fate of Atlantis Episode 3
    • Legacy of the First Blade Episode 3

Assassin's Creed Odyssey - ULTIMATE EDITION includes:
    • Assassin's Creed Odyssey

    • The Fate of Atlantis Episode 3

Why would I pay so much more for a version that does not include two additional complete games?

Never played any of the Batman games....considering buying. Where should I start? Looks like I can get Arkham City and Arkham Asylum both remastered for $5, or should I go this gen?
I played them both on the 360, very enjoyable and I'm not really a fan of Batman but the gameplay was very satisfying. I like how you can take out the henchmen one by one using stealth and the others are left wondering what happened. The combat system is also very rewarding which makes me think I'll want to go through the games again myself at some point so I might pick up Return to Arkham for the One. Good price and definitely worth it.
Thanks, I suppose I'll start there. May grab Knight too for $10
Now's the time to do it; the Premium Edition includes a lot, such as the Season Pass, which is $20 if you buy it separately. lol

Any recommendations? I've picked up everything I know I'll be interested in, but wondering if there's any niche titles I may have overlooked.

80% are repeat sales. Most games are on sale for the same price during each of the 3(?) big sales. And 1 or 2 times during the rest of the year. The deals are great for newcomers but we old guys saw the sales a few times.

I'm waiting for Mafia 3 complete to hit $10. $15 isn't worth it. And it's been $15 for the last 3 sales iirc.

Some delicious prices in this sale. Remember to redeem your Bing points. Even if you have only 5,000 you could pick up the Batman Arkham collection

This was discussed on the other thread when it was only for gold, what I previously posted was
From looking at the XBox store, I think Ultimate Edition is Gold + Kronos Pack + Herald of Dusk Pack + Capricornus Naval Pack

AC III & Liberation remastered are part of the Season Pass.
