Dead Cells and Life Is Strange S02 Ep1 are also really tempting me, oh god I have a problem.
The Crew 2 is a decent game for the most part. I bought the collectors edition because it was relatively cheap by Ubisoft standards. I enjoyed my time with it. I love the different disciplines and how the game actually forces you to compete in them.
One of the main things I didn't like in some cases was the obviously rubberbanded AI. I'm not sure if it was addressed since launch or not, but the AI rubberbanding is very noticeable sadly, and in some races requires you to be perfect. The other thing that kind of sucked achievement wise was grinding for level 50 and maxing out your cars performance. I think I did the same race over and over again for a few hours to max it out. Thankfully it wasn't too bad as I didn't have anything else to do and needed to get to level 50.
Quick summary though, you level up your card with performance parts. These parts are randomly obtained after winning events/races/etc. The your performance index reflects how good the parts you get are. Sadly, the parts you get are random. I forget, but I couldn't for the life of me get max level brakes or something, yet I had max level tires, engines, etc coming out of my ass. In short, that achievement is random and may require some grinding.
Gameplay wise though I loved the game. It was a major improvement over The Crew 2. The collectors edition came with the Gold edition, so I'm kind of sad there's been no big content updates. This also doesn't compare to other open world racers such as Forza Horizon, and it's not perfect, however, I think if they decide to continue with The Crew series, this instalment is a big step in the right direction.
