There's a few achievements for power sliding consistently etc. but I can't seem to correct power slide it seems. Like what is the process for power sliding? I go around a curve and press the bumper to power slide and the meter fills up super quick and then disappears. What is the button combo for doing this? I feel super dumb for not understanding it.

I'll admit to have a limited understanding still (still trying to get to grips with the power sliding myself).
However, I believe when you go around a corner and hit a bumper, you drift and the meter fills. When it is partially (or preferably fully filled), hit the other bumper and you'll get a boost. You can repeat this three times in a single drift.

If you hit the bumper when the meter is fully filled, you'll get a longer boost than if it were part filled. Most of the achievements are related to hitting the other bumper on a fully filled bar.

I think.

Drift boosting is done by starting a power slide with one bumper and hitting the other bumper when the meter is red. That said, it can vary when to efficiently hit the other bumper because the meter is red for a third of the bar. Usually you should aim to hit the other bumper when the meter is completely full for optimal boosting, which helps in storing more reserves into your boosts. Essentially, the reserves are literally boosts that are stacked up in a hidden system which gives your kart more speed for a longer period of time. There’s a whole meta on drift boosting and reserves that adds another layer of complexity to the game which is vital in order to compete online and unlock the tougher achievements. Here’s a YouTube video which explains it in more depth (it’s for the original game but still applies to the remake): https://youtu.be/llgZdOUhBX0

Edit: this one is probably better as it’s less complicated: https://youtu.be/r1OAW_ucXD8

I super boost a lot (3 times perfect boost in a row) but can't unlock the achievement for super boost? What am I doing wrong here?
