Game Informer released an article today confirming that in 2013 The Elder Scrolls will be released as a MMO.
From the article-
"Developed by the team at Zenimax Online Studios, The Elder Scrolls Online merges the unmatched exploration of rich worlds that the franchise is known for with the scale and social aspects of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Players will discover an entirely new chapter of Elder Scrolls history in this ambitious world, set a millennium before the events of Skyrim as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.
It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years," said game director and MMO veteran Matt Firor, whose previous work includes Mythic's well-received Dark Age of Camelot. "The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise."

A trailer is supposed to be released tomorrow.

I'll reserve judgement on this one. I've been disappointed one too many times in the past over MMOs with a lot of potential that end up being let downs. Part of The Elder Scrolls series' charm is it's single player aspects and what they can do because of that.

Fingers crossed for it though.

The only MMO I play and will only ever play is The Old Republic, never played an MMO before-hand that has kept my interest, but this sounds good, I can imagine a lot of people will be stoked for it.

My stance currently lies somewhere along these lines.

In all honesty the Elder Scrolls world is kind of bland. In scaling the game down and making it less pretty to handle more people running around, casting spells and causing a ruckus... there isn't a ton left.

Have to see it for myself before I pass judgement though. Being PC only could help it in that regard.
You think I wanna be a mediocre guy?!

With as much as they put in the game I think it will be a bust. Would be fun to try but till then I think it will be bust, like another said there have been so many let downs from other MMO's. I myself have trouble playing many on the computer and on my xbox for the account of really bad lag/crashes of either me or the person I am with.
Before acting look at what you’re about to do through a child’s eye. What example are you setting?
