DiRT 3 Worldwide Release Date Announced

    ...and two new screenshots!

    After months of teasing, developer diaries and the like, Codemasters are sure to have gamer's wheels spinning and drifting in a frenzy! As of today, the developer has announced that the latest iteration in the rally franchise now has a confirmed worldwide release date.

    Here's the tweet, via the official DiRT 3 Twitter account, which gives the specific details:

    We know you've waiting eagerly for this news! #DiRT3 will be released globally on 24th May 2011!
    So there you have it - you won't have to wait too much longer to race your hearts out across gravel, mud and ice all over again!

    To coincide with the release date announcement, Codemasters has released two more screenshots:

    DiRT 3 will introduce gamers to an innovative style of rallying, courtesy of the new Gymkhana mode, which will compliment the features and modes which have been brought forward from https://www.trueachievements.com/DiRT-xbox-360.htm and DiRT 2.

    i still think it's disrespectful they dropped colin mcrae from the game name

    dirt is one of the few racing series i actually enjoy,really looking forward to this game.

    i'm the reverse, i'm glad they finally dropped colin's name from the title, it has fuck all to do with either him or real rallying. since the dirt franchise started it moved into rally cross which was not colin's forte (think he took part in one of them, near the end of his life)

    on a side note, i really hope this doesn't revolve around travis again, don't know why, but i find him almost as annoying as ricky carmichael (SP?)

    i'll give this a try if i can save some money, no other racing game i know of until forza 4

    i kinda see your point, i think they should of left dirt alone after he died and started a fresh franchise

    I think it would be disrespectful to keep trading on his great name seeing as the franchise has moved away from what I would class as rally driving and as was pointed out Colin never really cometed in rally cross. As long as Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra don't keep jabbering on I'll be happy.
    It was all that dweeb Hot Rod's fault.

    I liked the Colin-Series. I also played Dirt 1, but didn`t like it. I also played the Dirt2-Demo but I didn`t likeit. It has too much Funsportaspect.Not that hardcore rally-thing like the old CMR-Titles...
    Hope it get`s better in part3...

    Personally i hope its similar to dirt 2 but improved. Dirt 2 was probably the racing game that i have enjoyed the most on the 360
