Reminder: Windows 8 Microsoft Casual Games servers closing on April 5th

Sigh they broke Xbox Live integration for Windows 8 AGAIN. All Windows 8 games suffer from this. Same thing as last time, raise cases with Microsoft about this. Windows 8 is still supported.

It's fixed again as of a couple hours ago.

Just stopped working again for me. I did briefly see it back up.

Yep gone again. MS is definitely doing something.

And back again... at least for now.

It's completely understandable if they want to kill 8. They should, at the very least, give a warning. Like "we will be shutting off windows 8 login servers on January 1, 2022". Then there is no excuse to not get done the things people want to get done and they won't need to deal with it anymore. Until then, if they can't decouple the casual game titles from Xbox as a whole, they should stay up and stop messing with it.

ok, thanks! First I had seen that message. Number Puzzle still works so probably just gonna have to do some reinstalls.

If you have a Solitaire license (even the newer Windows 10 version), you can manually install the old Windows 8 appx to play this older version of the game. One note though, alot of people can't download Solitaire collections and Daily Challenges in the older version of the game. It stopped working for me in Oct 2021, but some people say they can still download it. No one has found the secret sauce of why its still downloadable for some, but not others.

I think all that daily stuff still worked for me when people mentioned it going down. I can still install the needed Jigsaw pack etc. But, I finished most of these years ago so I'm the last person that needed it to work.
