I think they do considering I wasn't even done with the fast difficulty for Slime Grand Prix and I had done most of those challenges by the time I had earned the 100 races achievement. If you're lucky, you won't have to grind battle mode for the Armed and Dangerous achievement which is just hitting 500 opponents with items.
