Despite the massive backlog, I am tempted to finally pick up Red Dead 2. Ultimate edition worth it or just useless crap? For $5 I'll probably pick it up anyway.
Story: It is 100% useless extras although you get an extra mission to rob a bank. But you'll get to rob banks anyway and you will get a lot of money by just playing the game. Everything is dirt cheap in story mode and you get no help for the rarest achievements where it would actually matter. To put it in perspective: You get to rob a bank very early in game, right after the first two intro chapters. That will get you $2000. The best gun in the game costs $135. Ammo and healing is essentially free by looting enemies and killing animals randomly. When you complete the game you'll get $40.000. If you use guides you can get a serious amount of money (few hundred dollars) in certain missions right away. Just a note: while you can replay missions any time, the game only counts your first playthrough "legit". I mean when you first play a mission you get to keep everything. But when you replay it then nothing carries over from it except a better rank.

Online: Online was made to sell micro transactions so anything you get must worth a lot, right? Not really. The only bonus that might have a considerable positive effect on your gameplay is the XP boost until rank 25 and even that is debatable. You see in RDR2 Online the main concern is not XP but $ and gold. Everything is inflated to ridiculous levels in online to annoy you enough to buy something for real money. Missions pay you a few bucks and you have to collect gold in 0.01 amounts. Until the end of last year there was a trick to get essentially infinite money in online by using a COLLECTOR MAP that told you where are the most valuable treasure on the map every day. You will find it in Google. Since then Rockstar realized too many people skip their scummy practices this way and ruined the payouts a lot, but it is probably still the best way to get ahead. As for XP, doing bounty missions with friends was the best way to get it. All these missions/roles require 25 gold bars to start it so you either get it by doing daily busywork or there is a "cheap" real money 25 gold bars bundle in the shop. I would argue that buying that instead of the ultimate edition gets you more benefit than anything the UE can offer. Because if you don't play a role then all the other "missions" building up to it just waste your time with their next to nothing payouts. As for the horse you get, there was a very cheap (free?) horse when I played the game with almost the best stats available for everyone.
Thanks for the insight HUN. This is very helpful.
It's disappointing to hear that they're trying to milk money out of players this way. I've just -sorta- wrapped up the first game and was hoping for more of the same. I'll temper my expectations.
    Thanks again

RDR was a masterpiece. I didn't feel the same love in RDR2, although it was good. RDRO is their version of GTAO, but less: milk real $$, less online content and updates. I've barely touched it, especially since as HUN said the payouts are low and the roles cost too much gold for the casual player to not have to pay $$ to get into them.

In other words, way too much of RDRO is locked behind paywalls compared to GTAO. That said, the UE regular price is stupid expensive, but $5 extra may/may not be bad depending on whether you like cosmetics and such.

Dammit! I bought Ninja Gaiden a week too soon. Guess I can't appeal to MS about this misfortune of 8 days a difference

Dragon's Dogma is one of my top 5 favorite games of all-time and $10 is an absolute steal. Not a grindy completion or anything either and anything you missed can be done in NG+ easily. 10000/10, would recommend. 😊
    Is it really 150 hours?
I played the 360 version but it's been a few years now and it was done while I was on dialup so I can't see achievement time stamps for an idea of how long it took but 150hrs is a bit much I think. I want to say it was close to the 50hr mark, if even that, or maybe a bit over? I'm pretty certain I did not spend 150hrs completing the game though. I loved it also though, it was a lot of fun and I want to replay someday when I catch up on games I haven't done yet :D

Your welcome, enjoy! It was a fun game :) I think the only RPG around that time I spent close to 150hrs on would have been Skyrim and only because an achievement kept glitching so I had to rush through part of the game multiple times LoL

Editing to add the Xbox 360 copy of the game listed 60-80 hour completion estimate and that sounds closer (80 is a bit on the high end sounding maybe though?). Not sure why the X1 version says 150-200hrs? Might be some extra content or achievements not in the 360 copy?

Is Persona 4 Arena a fun game? I heard it has simplified controls.

Looks like Xbox One has 9 more achievements, 59 in total compared to the 50 on Xbox 360. Though I haven't done an in-depth look to see whats different between the two lists.

Will probably pick this up as well though. Never played either stacks, but almost bought a copy for the 360 last week to add to my collection. Though I may as well just pick it up for Xbox One instead and play it with updated graphics laugh

Yeah I saw that after I posted as well. A couple of those 9 involved some manner of speed run and getting to Level 200 (which I don't think was a thing in the 360 copy?). Hope you enjoy it if you grab it!

I just stupidly bought Speed 3-Grand Prix and I'm going to attempt to get my money back from MS. The frame rate is attrocious, the gameplay laughable and it's froze on me twice. Any recomendations on wether to actually be succesful in getting my money back. Do I say it's broken as quite frankly it really is, but i've done this before and they just said "we can't refund a game you've already started playing" or should I just say I own it elsewhere and hope?

Playing the XB1 version is the best way to play it currently because player created Pawns (party members that other players create and can be "rented" out) aren't on 360 anymore. The servers were shut down for it a few years ago. ?? You can still get all the cheevos, though, but Pawns and the Pawn community are what kept me playing it literally for 2 years straight! ??

I have 2 (still haven't played) and bought 3 Day One. It's annoying that the whole trilogy is $59.99 yet split the first is $10 more than the other 2 and discounts come in at 5% difference every time they're on sale. I'll eventually pick up the first in a few years when it finally gets a permanent cut and sale or finally gets a 75% off week

First of all, thank you for your post. I was about to get it but you changed my mind. Just out of curiosity, on what console did you try it?

You should be able to get a refund if there wasn’t more than 2 weeks (I believe) since you bought it and you haven’t played it for more than 2 hours. I always choose “bought the wrong version of the game” in the refund form and I haven’t had any issues so far (I got the refund quickly).
