Basic Terms and ConceptsThis section explains basic terms and concepts in this game.
Kakusei (also Kakuseishikai)One of the distinctive feature of this game, Kakusei state enables slowdown of the game and gives the player a chance to unleash powerful attack or get a great score. The detailed effects of Kakusei state differs with each game mode, but generally includes slowdown of the game and power-up of the players attacks.
To enter Kakusei state, you must first have Kakusei counter. While you have Kakusei counter, hit Kakusei button for a short time, and you'll enter Kakusei state. In Kakusei state, your Kakusei counter will gradually decrease. When the Kakusei counter reaches 0, the player enters another state "Kakusei Over". See the next item for this.
In Kakusei state, a circular effect appears around the player. In this circle, there's a red gauge showing how much Kakusei counter you currently have. You can check this gauge instead of the Kakusei counter on the top left corner.
You can manually exit Kakusei state by pressing Kakusei button again.
Kakusei Over (also Red Run)This is a state you'll enter when you run up Kakusei counter. In this state,
1. The game don't slowdown. Rather enemy bullets become faster than normal state.
2. Enemy bullets' color turns to red. This is why playing in this state is called 'Red Run'.
At the same time you enter Kakusei Over state, a circular effect with blue gauge appears. When this blue gauge go round, Kakusei Over state goes to the next level, making enemy bullet speed even more faster. Kakusei Over level starts at level 0 and can be raised to the maximum of level 3. If Kakusei Over level reached 3, the blue circular effect disappears.
Raising Kakusei Over level can make the game more difficult, but at higher level, enemy drops more items. So don't hesitate to raise level if you can manage the enemy bullet speed in Red Run (in Novice modes, it's not very difficult to play in level 3).
Kakusei Over level 3 is also a condition to make "hatred filled Seseri" (the True stage 5 boss) appear.
Zetsushikai (also KakuseiZetsushikai)Zetsushikai is a more powerful mode of Kakusei and requires both Kakusei counter and Gold counter. The exact feature of Zetsushikai differs with each game mode, but always different from Kakusei in some way, so it's important to know which to use.
To enter Zetsushikai, while you both have Kakusei counter and Gold counter, hold Kakusei button for a while. In Zetsushikai state, there's a circular effect similar to that of Kakusei state, but it also have additional white decoration around it.
While in Zetsushikai state, both Kakusei counter and Gold counter decrease gradually. What state you'll enter after Zetsushikai depends on which counter depletes first. If Gold counter reaches 0 before Kakusei counter, player will shift to Kakusei state. If Kakusei counter reaches 0 before Gold, then player will enter Kakusei Over.
General notes on Kakusei and ZetsushikaiKakusei and Zetsushikai are quite complicated system and requires player's expertise to use them wisely. Until you become familiar with the game, I recommend not using them - unless some achievement call for that.

You'll need Spirit Stone and Gold item to make use of Kakusei and Zetsushikai. Actual way to get them differs with each mode, but here are some general tips.
To get Spirit Stone, defeat enemies while in normal state.
To get Gold item, defeat an enemy in Kakusei state at the moment when there're many enemy bullets on the screen.
