I definitely recommend at least starting the game without a guide. This is a game about discovery. If there’s nothing to discover because of using a guide, the game loses much of its appeal.
I played without a guide & got all achievements but one. I made a fatal error that kicked me back to the main menu while deleting the save file with my progress. It was no big deal. The game is not that long & it was fun replaying it with 20-20 hindsight for the last achievement.
It took me 7 1/2 hours without a guide compared to the 2-3 hours with a guide. I still consider that to be a short game & I had fun playing it. I discuss the particulars of where I went wrong in the spoiler thread.
