Best Xbox racing games

Forza 6 > Forza 7

What a terrible mistake removing FM7 before the release of a new one. New players on Series S can't enjoy a Forza Motorsport game for example.

Loved the first three RIDE games - just waiting for 4 to get down to 10 to 15 dollars for the game and all DLC like 3 did.

Where is the true sim? Tour de France 2021 BABY!!!

Jokes aside though, Tour de France is an ugly game but with awesome management elements and relaxing gameplay

DiRT 5 shouldn't be on this list, terrible game

I couldn't recommend DiRT 5, it commits the worst crime a game can for me, dullness.

Don't let the flashy colours + big budget VA's fool you, WRC 5 was the last racing game I played that was as dreary as it.

Project CARS 2 I definitely could, it's embarrassing for Forza how a much smaller title has a bigger and better variety of tracks, even the fictional ones are better than any of T10's creations from FM4 onwards.

Great list. I need to give the Dirt series a shot again.

Have to admit I went through the article and was confused by the omission of Forza Horizon. I admit I didn't read the intro that clarified this excludes arcade racers. The general 'Best racing games' headline feels a bit at odds with the content.

WRC 10 is pretty much uncompletable on the Xbox One version due to a certain historical event (the current 3rd or 4th one, was added in a title update I think) having a currently impossible time to beat, no matter how perfect you drive you're always like 20-30 seconds off the pace. Heard its to do with 30fps on the One affecting the times compared to 60fps on Series X.

Asseto Corsa Competizione is the only decent racing game on console.

dirt 5 looks nice but the gameplay is awful, thankfully its a fairly quick completion

Forza Motorsport 2 through 4. Installed on Xbox 360 HDD. Launch. Seconds later, title screen. Select car, track and what you want to do with it. Seconds later, car is on track ready to drive. Tried to enjoy both FM 6 and 7. Realized how much downtime I had to endure waiting between load screens just for tarted up visuals... FM 2, 3 and 4 are my triumvirate. Life is short. Honestly it's a good list, but the fact that we don't have a proper simcade since FM7 really shows how it's lacking on a variety of good racing games on Xbox, but at least there is a FM to be released this year that hopefully holds it's weight against GT7.

So far I think the 2019 Grid is a little more fun than Legends. And does any one else get down to like 5 fps in the city/rain tracks of Legends (on a series X no less)?!
