I know I shouldn't talk people out of their philosophies, but it's a damn shame you'd let the worry over your completion miss out on something like Limbo. It's a very dynamic, fun and short experience, well worth your time. I definitely recommend it. ;)
Plus it's really not that bad. Some games with no-death or no-damage runs are extremely challenging, but this isn't nearly as difficult as it's made out to be.
Yes, you die a LOT getting through the game the first time, but that's mostly because they're cheap, sneaky kills that you don't see coming, or a puzzle that you have to try a few times to solve. Once you've been through it and know what's coming, it's really pretty easy to avoid most of the traps, and five deaths is plenty to get through the tricky spots with a little practice.
Not to diminish it for those who are struggling, of course, but I'm just saying, I was one who thought this probably wouldn't be worth the effort and the frustration, so I put it off for about five years. Decided to try it this month, and it only took me about three tries, clocking in at just over an hour each. Just saying, if the game interests you... don't let this one achievement stop you!
