Sniper Elite 5 review round-up

Mixed bunch of reviews really, but I love the series as it is so will be playing a ton with my son for sure

More of the same it seems. That's alright I suppose. The transition this generation was always going to be slow going and tough, hopefully by the time these franchises hit their next entries they can fully use "next-gen" hardware to make better, more innovate games. As long as it's fun to snipe people I'm sure it'll be worth playing at the very least.

I was always pleased with this series. Just great levels, great sniping, good visuals and FUN gameplay. I never wanted them to change it too much.

Looking forward to playing this as soon as all the DLCs are out

Haven't got round to 4 yet but liking the look of this so much I may dip into it on game pass from tomorrow.

I'll let the beta testers do their thing first.

But this series is always fun. So definitely jumping in a couple of months down the line.

I always have some fun with this game, especially in coop. There is space to get the engine better and gameplay more fluid but it is always something nice to play even with the issues.

It‘s in the pass so of course I‘ll play it. I thnk it will be a good one.

I very much enjoy the series but would appreciate getting out of the WWII setting, it's already tiresome having had 3 full entries (4 if you count the first game which I can't cause I never played it), 5 if you count the SE2 & 3 stacks between 360 and X1, and now adding on SE 5.

Like...there's other conflicts that involved sniping not just WWII. Shit give me even just a WWI sniper elite, break it up a bit.

...has been downloaded for several days and is ready to play when it launches via GamePass tomorrow...happy sniping (as bugfree if that is still possible these days)...

I enjoy these games in Co-op but will wait for DLCs and the expected Authentic Plus difficulty.

"Don't fix what's not broken". At least there is some upgrades and new modes on top of new maps.

I'm a big fan and downloaded already, BUT ...
... it's always the same setting. WW2-Setting in France, Italy, Africa or Germany are ok. But also it's always the same time-period. Nothing really changed.

Don't get me wrong. I love the series! Really! Played each many times, in solo and coop, ...
But why not trying something fresh? I like the ideas of Wolfenstein. Just go to 1970s or 80s, but Hitlers Reich is bigger and (a little) more modern (or steam-punky).

That would have changed enough to be a "newer" game - compared by just changing the country.

Oh - and: I'm german and love killing f*ck*ng Nazis 😋

Settings I would like to see them explore in the future.
1. Gulf War. Hunt Saddam.
2. Afghanistan. Hunt Bin Laden.
3. Vietnam. Get dirty and wet.

I thought it was due to release today (Gamepass still has it listed as 5/25), so I was a little frustrated thinking I was going to get to dive in on my day off. Oh well, plenty of time to swat those nasty buggers later.
