Sniper Elite 5 update patches out achievement exploit

  • Posted on 28 June 22 at 13:40
Never understand this kind of thing; where is the 'achievement' in glitching your way to getting it? I like to look back on those really difficult Achievements that I unlocked with pride, particularly so if only a few have matched the feat. If people are, to put it bluntly, cheating in order to unlock what is supposed to be an Achievement unlocked only by the best of us, it makes having Achievements effectively pointless...

Think you forgot what site you’re on. The quickest and easiest method is what a majority are going to do, for better or worse.

I’ve also never used achievements as a barometer for a persons skills when it comes to video games. Especially given even people who tout the high road often end up using some level of exploit themselves. Each person has their own bar and pretty much no one is above it to some degree.
I get what you're saying. Some people won't have the time to invest, and whilst I have never used an exploit, I have used guides, which I guess are a kind of cheat in themselves. I wasn't trying to be sanctimonious though. Just saying that for me, personally, obtaining a difficult Achievement is a moment of pride, and so looking back and saying to myself, well I cheated to get that one, doesn't really float my boat, but each to their own, I guess. We are all different and have a different set of priorities and self-expectations...

Speak for yourself. I've never used an exploit. All my achievements were earned by playing the game properly. Half the time, I don't even look at what achievements I need to unlock unless I'm missing a few that seem impossible so I look to see if I can figure out any tricks to unlocking it, but still by playing the game normally, not by cheating or exploiting a glitch.

Can be still obtained if I'll play offline with not updated version?

I’ve wondered in the past if these exploits were just lazy devs testing achievement unlocks and forgetting to remove it before they release

The update also adds a new multiplayer map "as a thank you for the Community's ongoing patience since launch." The existing No-Cross map Urban Ruins is now playable at night in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Squad Match modes, and Rebellion has added more cover to the central park and opened up other areas of the map.
Changing an existing maps sky is hardly “a new map”. I didn’t catch that in the patch notes so did the dev really word it as such?

Bonus XP for playing the game with Invasions on has been removed.

Elsewhere, the ability for hosts to kick invaders has been removed
No incentive outside of the easily boosted achievements or ability to kick griefers. Sounds like they’ve removed all reasons to even turn this setting on for longer than a few minutes

They said majority, they never said you did.

If you’re referring to the second paragraph, again, they weren’t referring to someone who’s played 537 and completed 3 with 11.5% of achievements unlocked

If you’re referring to the second paragraph, again, they weren’t referring to someone who’s played 537 and completed 3 with 11.5% of achievements unlocked they were referring to the handful of holier-than-thous who like to run around touting their arbitrary completion numbers and how they utilize hints/tips/tricks/solutions here which more often than include some way to get it done that wasn’t originally intended.

Either way they said majority and pretty much no one. Never said everybody so if you never have it wasn’t directed at you

This pretty much sums up everything, well said my friend. People have a tendency to take offense to generalized statements, which is why I didn’t target whatsoever because as we said before this site is literally designed around the fastest possible way to earn the achievements in whatever game you are playing.

Most don’t care for your personal moral compass because it doesn’t matter to them if you did it “legit” and they used an exploit, the end result is effectively the same in their eyes and the eyes of basically anyone besides the most diehard looking at it.
    Time to move.

We should petition TA to remove all walkthroughs/guides and generally any comments on game pages. I mean there may be tips in there on how to beat a level quicker or easier. How dare a gamer have the audacity to enjoy a game how they choose. Does anyone realise how devastating it is for people to find out someone finished a game a few hours quicker than they did. Forget wars, poverty and hunger..achievements are the most important things in life...

    Sarcasm over 😁

Authentic is how the game should be played anyway and is the most fun. Tired of seeing these wack videos of people proud of themselves for making a nut-shot from 70 yards away on Civilian.

Do they patch the cloud versions as well?
(Subnautica and Below Zero are still unpatched)
Is that confirmed for subnautica on the cloud version? Because i was told that it had been patched already...
The walkthroughs on Youtube do not mention it does not work anymore for Subnautica but Zero still seems to work.

Damn, if I knew there was an exploit I would have started the game by now. Guess it’s the old fashioned way for me then
On this day I see clearly everything has come to life

Authentic is really extremely easy this time around and as a gamer who has been playing video games for over 35 years, it really seriously amazed me how many are now just exploiting glitches and exploits. No ambition to create something yourself anymore? Kind of disappointing...
you're here handholding people with your 787!!! guides but frown upon the fact that some people on this site want to save some time or have it easier? lol get outta here (new york/italian accent) :) toast
