After finishing the base game last year, I decided to go for 100% completion by purchasing the DLC. I elected to go for the Ranger Mode DLC first as it was cheaper than the season pass. However, when I attempted to confirm the purchase in game, the following message was displayed on screen:
"Sorry, something's changed about this offer. To buy it, you may need to clear the system cache and reboot. For more info, look up status code 80153016 at www.xbox.com/errorhelp"
The problem is that no matter what I do, I still can't purchase the DLC. I already tried the following:
- Clearing the system cache and the Marketplace System Data.
- Tried different payment methods (Microsoft Account, PayPal, credit / debit card).
- Attempted to purchase from the online Marketplace website (desktop and mobile, with PayPal or card. Microsoft Account option did not appear). The result of this shows the message, "Sorry Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again.".
- Contacted Microsoft support, where they were unable to purchase the DLC for me.
The one time the purchase nearly went through was on the Marketplace website using the card payment method. However, on the card confirmation screen, the amount shown was displayed as £3.39 instead of the Gold Exclusive price of £1.69.
In this instance, I suspect the Gold price might be the problem. I may have to let my membership expire this month before deciding whether to purchase it at the normal price, unless the DLC will go on sale soon, which it has not done since 2021.
Has anyone been able to purchase the Ranger Mode DLC at the Gold price in the last year?
