I just bought Hades for $19.99 yesterday since it is leaving Game Pass. $16.74 today. I’m not going to stress over the $3.25
Not sure if it’s worth it for ya, but you can always reach out to MS CS and more often than not they’ll help ya out with that price change. Regardless you got a great FkN game! Worth it at full price, let alone any sale. toast

That "DMC" bundle of the first four games seems very appealing; anyone got thoughts on "1" and "4" (already know "2" is trash and "3" is great, less certain on the other two)?
All DMC games (except 2) are great imo. 4 plays just like 5 for the most part, the worst thing about it is you play half the game as Nero then when you switch to Dante you just go back through the same levels in reverse. 1 is pretty basic in comparison and is similar to early Resident Evil games (because it initially started as RE4 if you didn't know).

Hello, this is your CyrodilicBrandy reminder that whilst Silent Hills 2+3 are great games, the 'HD' Collection on sale at the moment is NOT worth it at any price - unless you've already played it on PS2/Xbox and just like the idea of getting Silent Hill related achievements. If you can, source a used copy for your PS2/Xbox and play them in all their intended glory. I'm sure there are...........'other' ways to play, as well. But if you're new to Silent Hill and want to play to enjoy, don't get the HD Collection - it will genuinely ruin your experience and heaven forbid it should put you off any other SH games (even Homecoming which sucks but it's still ...fun? Kinda?'

Why? What’s wrong with it? I’ve thought about picking it up in the past.

Some of the graphics are clearer and what you would consider HD - the drawback to this is that a lot of the elements of suspense, disgust and dread RELIED on the graphics being less clear. This is more apparent in SH2, where you spent much of the time on the foggy streets (less so in SH3, iirc). This means that a lot of the emotional dread you should be feeling, as a player, is lost when, instead of only being able to hear a monster...somewhere...the fog is now so pushed back that you can see them from miles away.

Now, you might think these are little things, and functionally the game runs in the exact same way. This is why I say that if you don't care about the games themselves, or you've already experienced it for yourself elsewhere, it's not so much of an issue. I'm just a big enough fan that I would like for people to be able to experience them as they were *meant* to be experienced when they first came out. The HD collection doesn't add anything new, except achievements, although there are certain endings/items, iirc, that were once only available on the Xbox director's cut - but still, you're getting the same experience, and this other ending is not canonical so if you never got it before, you're still not missing out.

There's also several grating sound design choices that, as far as I am aware, some are straight up technical mistakes, and others are just...weird choices. E.G, there is a part in Silent Hill 2 where you are descending down a seemingly never-ending staircase, ...and you hear the non-stop blare of a ship's horn. There are papers just before this section gave some hints as to what this is, and in the original game it's VERY well done. In the HD, for some reason, they took out this sound and replaced it with the radio static - in and of itself a very stress-inducing noise. However, they took away the main atmospheric dread from that moment.

I think in SH3 (it could be 2, but I think it's 3), they are literally dubbing the new voice actors over the old voice-over, and you can hear it if the volume is just right. At one point the team lost/accidentally deleted certain files, music, code, all the important stuff, so there's a lot of stuff they had to cover up or quickly replace. All in all not the best muster for the 'HD Collection' of a popular and much-loved, if relatively niche' game. (I say niche only because I think a lot of people know it by osmosis instead of actually playing it?)

Anyway, you can find comparison videos of the originals and HD online, and as fasr as I know, it's generally disliked by many SH fans, so it's not just me bitching about it, hehe.

Obviously I still recommend playing the games, and if you're not able to get the originals in any form then definitely pick the HD up whilst it's on sale (it's not worth more than the current price now, honestly). I would just suggest that afterwards you watch someone play through the original or heck, even the PC 'enhanced' versions - which is what the HD collection SHOULD be like. Hope this helps and sorry for the essay! I'm v. passionate about Silent Hill.....

Yakuza Like a Dragon Legendary Edition. It will likely leave GP soon. I thought of buying the DLC in last weeks sale, but that cost over £20. Now for £5.50 more I get the game too. Soon it will probably effectively make the game free if it goes under £20 and DLC still has same discount when on sale.

There are still some games on sale from last week for another week, like Syberia 3, which rarely goes on sale.

I doubt I will buy it as bought it on disc for less.

Sword Art Ali… deluxe edition is finally dropping more, it has been stuck at £50 for years, but still not low enough yet. Bought game on disc for less than £10 and even buying Premium Pass at full price is still cheaper. When Deluxe goes for less than £20, or premium pass £10 or below or complete the base game I will buy one of them.

Got 100 dollars I can spend on ACA neogeo and artifex mundi games...what do you mean they aren't on sale😒.
Side note: if you are buying the quarry get the bundle...individually you are getting shafted
I’m so ready to buy all the aca neo geo fighting games but they almost never seem to go on sale
Same here those were my teen years playing arcade neogeo and on slow nights in Mexico when we were waiting for the live music to get going for parties😂
Shame they dont seem to go on sale like they used to but if they went to 3.99, I would easily spend 100(probably more) on the fighting/beat em ups and platformers

How's Monopoly Plus? Seems fun but I remember those games being quite glitchy.

Which is so weird since the Arcade Archive titles go on sale fairly regularly on PS4 and Switch.
I didnt start buying digitally until summer of 2019 (saved up my Microsoft points for gamepass and figured I would get to the digital games).

Artifex mundi was the same way where I would pick up the 10 dollar bundles but even they finally put individual games on sale.
Even an ACA neo geo bundle would be nice like all the king of fighter games for 35-40 dollars would be reasonable.

Just take a trip to Argentina wink
Do the aca games usually go on sale in Argentina?

When I go to Mexico (to visit family and friends in December) they have emulator arcades where it costs a peso to play (20 to 22 pesos for a dollar).

All the neogeo, some xbox 360 games, old platformers...we ended up beating the Simpsons arcade and playing injustice 1 for a dollar😂

If you're not ready to buy the ACAs at full price, then you're not ready ever.

Some have already been delisted (not fighters but 4 soccer games).

Go for it. Don't put off something you really want, or you don't really want it.

Hitman 2 Gold looks extremely good sale!
I'd rather have they'd put the DLC pass on sale though, as I want to buy physical.
