    Use this for Marathon options.

Use the El Camino or Sandman for the Trial, everything else is so boxy that it's inevitable their handling will be rubbish.

    Lotus Exige (Nalak28)
    Honda S2000 CR (K1Z Bard)
    BMW Z4 '08 (HLundh)

All good options for the Endurance championship.

    Clio Williams (Rayne SE) (FWD)
    Escort RS Turbo (Team Fung)
    Integra (FujiwaraP1) (FWD)
    '74 Civic (Saeenu)
    '97 Civic (EMW Dave) (FWD)

All good options for Retro Street, go with the '74 Civic if you have to have AWD and the Integra if you're ok without it.

Trucks are such a stupid choice I'm not even going to bother, use whatever with whoever's tune or stock and get it out of the way.

This video helped me do Lucky Escape Skill combo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmcmRny6J98

It looks like it consists in drifting close to another car or between 2 cars. I did on the freeway.

    It's drift/e-drift + near miss.

Perhaps the game needs some form of in-game guide on these skills if people still don't know these things after nearly a year into this + 5 games into the series.

There’s an old Forza help page with most of them, it’s not current or that easy to find, but that’s how I learned them. Usually the game will say “by drifting while performing a Near Miss to earn a Lucky Escape” or something like that but it’s easy to gloss over.

Integra is well known as one of the best C class cars but it's still surprised me, top 100 times on both Hilltop Descent + Guanajuato Sur with my GS time in the top 20 + the fastest auto time, my HD might be the quickest auto time too as the ones above it just don't look realistic with the car and/or assists but maybe I'm wrong there.

I don't know who's tune it is but the previous quickest legit AT time on GS was also in an Integra, theirs is much better off the line than Fujiwara's though so there's clearly another properly top tune out there for it.

The main thing to know about many FH skills is that some have a cooldown before you can earn them again. For example Air Skills can be earned with no cooldown (or none long enough to exceed the time it takes to make a short hop of a jump), Kangaroo also doesn’t seem to mind firing off every three jumps no matter how fast you do them. Something like Wrecking Ball (wreackage+air) seems to have a cooldown until you can earn the next one, even if you perform the skill twice very quickly (Smactus does too).

So if you’re Mastery Point farming, always go with a diet of air+Kangaroo, supplemented by drift, wreckage, and wrecking ball skills. Alternating the direction of an e-drift can keep your chain going (in most vehicles you can trigger an e-drift faster than a drift).

Ebisu-Style is probably the hardest skill to execute on demand, behind threading the needle, because you really need a car and some terrain conducive to it.

I still get happy every time I manage a showoff in a Trial or Open Racing😂

For fun or for the weekly target? On easier difficulties any tune with any kind of launch will win a drag race. At 80% of the race your opponents literally slow down.

For fun. I tried a drag event on highly skilled with the Eclipse first and promptly lost. I turned the AI difficulty down to get the challenge done, but my pride is wounded lol.

This week sucks. Street races in wet season with a stupid car-pool makes you slide like on ice while cpu is on rails. Not that hard, but annoying af.

    Great tune for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz #24 Tankpool24 Racing Truck. 🫡

Does anyone have any suggestions for A/S1/S2 cars for open racing? I'm doing that for the level 100 achievement but I would like to not finish last for once. I've tried a variety of cars with 5 star tunes but I still seem to finish last everytime laugh

Bone Shaker for A, Ferrari FXX for S1 and Koenigsegg CCGT in S2 are the best all-rounders on Road + Street.

Some courses there are quicker options but those 3 are the best combination of speed + ease to drive quickly.

Don't take too much from seeing tunes being 5 stars either, popular doesn't = best in this game, most of the 5 star ones are just bang average stuff from well known players/weekly tuners.

    FH5 Open Racing

All these tunes are meant to win in the corners and often do not have the highest top speed possible. Learn how each one corners and then use that to beat your opponents.

    B Class
    1957 Chevy Bel Air (Street/Road)
    165 514 549
This tune is wild, it’s the one nobody seems to know about. No one drives a Bel Air and they’re missing out. It’s one big drawback is it’s a boat and a strategic sub-1 second e-brake press can get your around some corners faster. Don’t ignore your yellow line. On the upside it has a ton of weight, almost no one can push your around. It accelerates so much better than almost anything else anyone will be driving in B class you should win against most drivers supposing you know the track well. This car is my big secret weapon.

    1965 Cooper Mini S (Dirt)
    136 886 843
Downside: in a sideways skid this can roll over on you. Upsides, this tune is stupid fast on Dirt and corners like nothing else in this class. It’s really outstanding. Originally was a Speed Zone tune.

    1990 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R (CC)
    221 244 076
This is definitely a meta choice, I’m not even sure if this is the best tune, but it’s serviceable and will beat anyone not also driving a meta car almost without trying. It was tuned as a Dirt car, I like it better as CC though. The Cooper Mini S is still better on Dirt once you get a feel for it.

    A Class
    Boneshaker (as previously stated) (Street/Road)
Any or a million valid tunes

    2017 Ford F-150 Raptor (Dirt/CC)
    934 362 856
I no longer recall if this is considered “meta” or not, but it’s a cut above the rest. The above tune is very serviceable but I’m still looking for an ideal one (same for the Mercedes-Benz X-Class).

    S1
There’s so many good street and road tunes in this class I don’t want to list them all here. This is the one I probably default to the most.

    1997 McLaren F1 GT (street/road)
    393 579 141
This is a very serviceable tune and the F1 GT sticks to the road like it’s its true love. You can win with it if you know the track better than your opponent. It’s fast, don’t run into a wall.

    2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO (Dirt/CC)
    105 181 576
Bounces all over the place and somehow still manages to be faster and generally go where you try to aim it. It’s fast, crazy fast. Handles better on Dirt, careful on pavement, you don’t get the same ridiculous performance on corners. This thing might not win you your first 5 races but after that you have a good shot.

    S2
I hate driving S2 and have never settled on what I think is an outstanding street/road car and tune. Cares like the Sesto Elemento FE can be tuned for off-road, it’s mostly what you’d be facing it there even are dirt and CC S2 Open races, look for something like that. Anything like a Trailcat tuned into S2 will actually handle worse.

This is the way to go. Give up top speed for handling but speed will still be more than adequate. If your all about top speed your not going to turn.
