What games could leave Xbox Game Pass in May 2023?

  • Posted on 19 April 23 at 19:07
Because Danganronpa 2 is almost guaranteed to go in May, make sure you start Danganronpa V3 sometime in the near future - I think that one's got an even longer estimated completion time so it'd be good to deal with it soon

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising was a pretty fun game. Story drags on a lot longer than it needed too though

Was there not a deal made for Descenders? I feel like this site made a post saying that the game had a contract for a good few years iirc.

I agree it was good and had stellar accessibility options, but the game is mostly fetch quests, so be aware you’ll often be revisiting locations you’ve previously been to. It was trying to be anything more than what it was, though, and it did a very good job at meeting its goals.

I cannot believe it’s been a year since Hard Space: Shipbreaker joined, yikes!

And I’ve been putting off Citizen Sleeper until I could really engage with it, the time might be now.

Items on the Xbox web store have an end date attached to their prices, indicating something is going to happen. Could be a sale, a delisting or leaving Game Pass. Right now, the following games have a date indicating they could leave Game Pass in the next couple months. Times are UTC.

    2023-05-16 09:59:59
    Dicey Dungeons
    Moonlighter
    My Friend Pedro
    Umurangi Generation Special Edition

    2023-06-01 09:59:59
    Evil Genius 2: World Domination
    Floppy Knights
    Lawn Mowing Simulator
    Maneater
    Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition
    Serious Sam 4

    2023-06-16 09:59:59
    Bridge Constructor Portal
    Omori
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge
    theHunter: Call of the Wild

    2023-07-01 09:59:59
    DJMax Respect V
    Empire of Sin
    Forager
    House Flipper
    Middle-earth: Shadow of War
    Olija
    The Yakuza Remastered Collection
    Yakuza 3 Remastered
    Yakuza 4 Remastered
    Yakuza 5 Remastered
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life

The games leaving at the end of this month had their dates set for a while. Interestingly, a few other games also have an end date at the time same (7 Days to Die, Citizen Sleeper and Cricket 22), but for the last few cycles that I've been checking, more games have been listed than ended up leaving, but the games that left had their dates set.

Another note, each price has only 1 date, and a current or upcoming sale can mask another date. So while the May 16 list only has 4 items, the large Spring Sale is still going and something there could also be in the end list. Won't know until the sale ends early Friday morning and the end dates adjust.

Hopefully MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries won't leave Game Pass, since it's a Microsoft's IP in terms of video games.

Since when? Microsoft don't own the MechWarrior IP, and MechWarrior 5 is on Playstation too.

I hope Jurassic World Evolution 2 doesn't come off of GP
Microsoft is a company and last time I checked Microsoft has released more than 2 games in the last 5 years. There's 100's if not 1000 of them

Wow, May 22 was on heck of a month. If all of those drop out then some real gems are departing. Certainly recommend Citizen Sleeper to anyone, that was a really fun and interesting experience, simple enough as well.

I’ve been planning to get into Jurassic World Evolution 2 for a bit now, but I might wait to see if it leaves next month first. If not then I probably have a few months to work on it. If it does leave I can grab it on a good sale eventually.

Pretty sure they said that they were absolutely delighted with what GamePass had done for both exposure and sales, and that they were more than happy to keep it on there as long as possible.

danganronpa 2 didn't take me that long to complete, like 80 hours. but danganronpa 3 is a huge grind. if you want all the achievements in 3 you should start now

ms does own mechwarrior ip, https://trademarks.justia.com/756/77/mechwarrior-75677827. Minecraft is on Playstation so ms doesn't own the ip (even if ms owns mojang) following the logic.

Damn, I want to play a lot of these but Persona 5 is eating up all my gaming time. Seriously, i'm 80 hour into it and according to the guide i'm following, i'm only about half way done. I love the game but this time requirement is getting kind of ridiculous.

Doubt Farming Simulator 22 leaves, as there is no Farming Simulator sequel. It usually only leaves when it is going to be replaced by it's sequel.

So glad there was a guide for this one, as the Achievement Descriptions were atrocious. Most gave you no clue on what you had to do to unlock.

I might put Loot River higher on my priority list just in case.

I still need to finish Vampire Survivors DLC, but if I miss it before it leaves GP, I would be more than happy to support the devs by purchasing it.

I never had that issue too much until late game. I usually ended had enough stuff to get me by

XBOX players deserve to feel special again for being XBOX players: No Final Fantasy VII, No Final Fantasy XVI, no Final Fantasy Pixel, no Atelier Ryza, no Silent Hill, no Nioh, no Shenmue 3, no Rise of Ronin, no Death Stranding; we don't even have Knights of the Old Republic, a game that started on XBOX! Phil needs to address his customers and be real!
