A lot of high quality games on the list! Maybe I won’t miss games with gold that much after all!
    Crackdown 3!

    List definitely looks great!
I have not as much time to play anymore as I would like anyway. So this list, with a small update here and there, combined with my immense owned backlog, in addition to a few new purchases here and there of games I must play, willl more than suffice for me. As soon as my Gamepass Ultimate expires I will revert back to Core. That won't be for two and a half years though, as I was one of the last of the lucky ones to make use of the 1:1 gold-ultimate conversion ratio. dance

For somebody that is definitely now classed as a casual gamer, that is happy playing almost anything for a hour or two after work, this is brilliant!

I think this is good progress. I don't play much multiplayer anymore so I let my gold slip last year. But this has prompted me to buy a gold sub again today.

I think I am on Game pass ultimate till january. Anybody know what gold codes will do when I run out ? I'm still seeing gold codes at Costco.

I'm looking forward to playing Psychonauts 2. Even if that's all I play from this list it'll be so much better than what GWG turned into.

Ah yes, remove my free GWG games and give me access to games I already have access to through Gamepass Ultimate, thanks Microsoft, you're always looking out for us. facepalm
Any previously obtained Games with Gold titles will still be available to you, so long as you maintain an active subscription.
Losing access to my "owned" Games with Gold titles isn't my concern. My concern is we went from being given two games a month to zero, with nothing to replace them, oh and the price of Gamepass Ultimate also increased recently too headspin
I completely agree, they've taken away a significant part of the service (even if it has been pretty dreadful for quite a while) AND increased the price! I have no interest in the multiplayer but still have to pay for it!!! But I shouldn't complain when it only costs £3.50/month for GPU (£4.51/month for anyone who does it now since they changed the conversion ratio). GamePass Ultimate is/was literally HALF the price of GamePass Core 🤣🤣
I miss the gwg offerings to be honest all of them had decent ratings even the most of the indie gwg...just be thankful GPU only went up to 17 dollars look at the psn youtube commenters which provide pure popcorn entertainment on their price increase
if you have easy games on your gamercard dont be a hypocrite and stop others from enjoying the same games

Do old xbox 360 games claimed via games with gold currently need a games with gold subscription to run?
No. 360 titles have always been yours to keep regardless of subscription status.
Well, unless it is an online game. Then you will need Xbox Game Pass Core on your Xbox 360 to play, even though Game Pass is not supported on Xbox 360.

Microsoft really should make online free on Xbox 360, as the people paying for online on Xbox One get 36 games (many AAA) included for the same price.

Gold codes will be hanging around for a while yet. They redeem at 1:1 for Game Pass Core, or 3:2 for Game Pass Utlimate. Last month I redeemed 18 months of Gold codes for 1 year Ultimate.

How are you paying 3,50 a month for GPU? I pay 20 dollars a month.
https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2023-grab-three-yea... - now though, you only get 2 years GPU for 3 years XBLGold, but still works out to less than £4.50/month. Hopefully you have something similar to CDKeys where you live?

It was never “literally” half the price of monthly Gold, but it was nearly the same price as yearly Gold.

Now the cheapest you can get GPU is 1.5x the price of GPCore + 1 month GPU.

I joined GPuff for 1 year, and when it ended Microsoft sent me codes for 10 years of GPU. I missed out by 1 month of getting 15 years of GPU!

GamePass Ultimate used to work out to about £3.50 a month. And Core is £6.99 a month. That is literally HALF the price (give or take half a penny).

To be fair, if you pay annually, Core will be cheaper than £6.99/month. Not sure how much by though - Microsoft don't seem to state a price. Some places say it will be £39.99/year, others say £50/year.

But you could previously get GPU for HALF the price of paying monthly for Core. Fact.

    Exactly what I was thinking.
They must have long term commitments with the 3rd party games on that list.

State of Decay 2 is literally a forever game, especially with the changes made in the past year or so, forever communities that exist past finishing the capstone quest and the ability to bring in and send back survivors from your bench roster make the game so much more enduring. Add in the monthly Bounty Broker quests always giving you something interesting to do and it’s just an amazing value. Oh I guess I should add the DLCs are now just included in the Juggernaut Edition base game offered on Game Pass.

FH4 is far better than FH5, excellent pick there.

Spiritfarer and Dead Cells are two of the best indie efforts available.

Firewatch is excellent though it’s only going to last a few hours of gaming with little reason to return to it.

Several other extremely recognizable AAA games from multiple genres and popular franchises are included (Doom, Dishonored, etc.).

All in all they could have done a lot worse.

Anyone opening up a new XBox for the first time is going to get a free code for a month and a pile of high quality games. This feels like it’ll be really good for people wanting to try XBox out.

I do, but I don't trust sites like that. CDKeys is known for selling stolen codes and can get you banned.

That's fair enough if you don't personally trust CDKeys - but you can say the EXACT same thing (known for selling stolen goods) about eBay, Amazon, Gumtree, Facebook, etc. Amazon (themselves, not a marketplace seller) have even sent me FAKE SD cards before.

CDKeys is by far the best of the "grey-market key resellers" and is pretty reputable - it's the only one I am willing to use, the rest seem very iffy at best.

But, as with any 2nd hand product (apart from houses and *possibly* cars that have had a HPI check done on them), there's no guarantee it's not stolen.

I've never heard of anyone getting banned for this though - is there any evidence that people have bought 2nd hand keys then got banned despite doing nothing wrong? And if so, did they stay banned or did Microsoft fix their mistake?

If I got banned for this though, I'd be suing Microsoft for many thousands. And they'd lose out long-term anyway since I'd never buy another of their products. Getting banned for this is the equivalent of you buying something at a Tesco self-service checkout, not realising the payment didn't go through and then the security guard letting himself into your house and stealing all of your property!
