Nice. Been hoping for a walkthrough of this for awhile now. I hope the other two games in the trilogy get assigned too.

I will see how this one turns out, but I am considering taking on Shadowrun: Dragonfall next if I manage to cobble together a usable guide.
How the Hell can you love another if you can't love yourself?

Looking forward to this (and potentially Dragonfall!) Good luck!

Thank you. This one is running along. Sometime next week I should have it done and submitted for review.

Might be one more week and then it has to go to review. I ran into a little slow down this week, longest bit is all done. Just running back through each area to make sure I don't miss anything of value.

Congrats! I look forward to reading it (planning to play this game close to Christmas, so this is well timed).

Thanks for the Walkthrough however I ran into an oversight at Page 18, The Digital World.
You never said to buy a datajack cyberware to connect a deck. So by the time I bought the deck as the guide instructed I can't use it at all (as the Doc is unavailable). I had to go in the Matrix with the "no deck" option as Johnny. Not a big issue as the part was clearly made with the "anyone can do it" mentality in mind but still. Afterwards I could buy a jack right away.

Noted, I'll take a look at that and figure out where I went awry. Thanks for pointing it out.

Hi again, I just ran back through that section.

You should not need a datajack to connect the deck, the only part that should matter there is that your decking skill is sufficient, which for the Fuchi is level 5 and that you have equipped it.

Other than Johnny mentioning a Data Jack, the only thing it is absolutely needed for is smart link weapons which aren't a thing this early in the game anyhow. I played about with different saves trying to find an instance where I could not equip a deck without a data jack but could not find an instance where I could not equip one, beyond not having the appropriate decking skill.

With the decking level at 5, the Fuchi deck equipped, the dialog options for Johnny Clean are no deck (you have to have decking skill, but no deck equipped) or decking 1, 2, 4 (which is just the brag of how adept you are and that you have a deck), with the no experience (no decking skill, no deck) dialog option greyed out.

Maybe you happened to find a weird little bug?

All I can say is I couldn't equip the deck without a datajack cyberware. It went right into my stash after the purchase. The game didn't allow me to put it in my inventory / weapon slot from the stash until I installed the cyberware. I played Shadowrun IRL ages ago but I remembered "jacking in" was always a requirement for deckers. I did look around on the web afterwards. It seems equipping a deck without cyberware is the bug?

Maybe it happened because I played the game completely on PC Game Pass. I did encounter PC/Win games with version mismatches despite using the same save. Eh it doesn't really matter because you can solo the part on easy but if the player had to jack in on a mission it could have been an issue.

Oh, I believe you, just not sure what's up.

Lord knows... You're probably right, I may have found a bug. Same experience both playthroughs, so I need to at least establish what I'm doing to pull that off. Also why I didn't question it though.

My second playthrough was entirely on PC while I was actively writing the walk-through. I still had it installed and I was flipping back and forth, which in hindsight was probably more complicated than just using the Xbox.

In the before time when I played Shadowrun on the table top with books and dice and what not, Deckers always had a data jack, there was no option. No idea what the rules look like these days, but I imagine it's the same.

You're right though, one would be boned if the scenario was set up differently.

I'll play with it some more, start a new save try again. Then figure out how to edit this blasted guide.

I just started using the walkthrough and ran into an issue. So in the prologue you wrote the whole section about whats happening and how many enemies there would be then after the battle you list all the stuff you can work on in the previous section. Then at the bottom of the page you list the stats you chose when creating the character. I think this entire section needs to be reversed so that people starting see the stats to choose first, then the achievements they should be aware of in the upcoming section followed by the actual section walkthrough. I had to restart the game and follow the prologue page from the bottom up lol. Just a suggestion of course especially if you do the walkthroughs for the other games (Which I assume follow a similar path achievement wise). Otherwise thank you for the work put in and I look forward to the rest of the guide and ones for the other Shadowrun titles!
