    For the 'Defense player' achievement, the WT says "This achievement must be completed by playing as the Phantom Faction. In the General tips and hints section, I suggested starting with the Phantoms not only because of their powerful passives, but to unlock this achievement"

    This is incorrect, you can also get this by playing as Libertad and using their healing ability
